H1b Visa for nurses under FY 2010

Hello To All....

Just today, I received a letter from a US source..Does anyone of you heard about IAAPN? the website is www.IAAPN.org Please visit this website...

Well, we all know that H1B is very restrictive and it's only for those with specialty nursing areas. Now, I was encouraged by this source to obtain this certificate from IAAPN. The cost will total $150 (lifetime membership $50 and $125 for the certificate), there's an online exam passing mark is 69%, it's like an NCLEX..though) to be eligible for H1B visa.

I don't know if you heard about this....but if this true..then its a choice for those nurses who are not currently eligible for H1B, but with VSC plus NCLEX.

Hope Silverdragon and nursecubanita are with me....what do you think about this?

I checked their website and there is no contact number and address on the site. Do your research first before you pay.Although I am very interested on their list of hospital sponsoring H1B. If you are into renal nursing you can check this site also.:)

As I read the website they talk about recruiters, employers etc so makes me think they are more of a agency rather than a employer that will apply for H1b and as mentioned no real contact details in case you have queries except via a web application

Read the questions and answers on their website. I also read that they admitted they are only accredited through themselves and they have no link to any other nursing associations. I also read that you have to have a minimun of 2 years experience in the nursing specialty that you are seeking. You must also be licensed in the US. I would recommend contacting them through the contact us tab and request their telephone number and physical address. Would I be leary about this? ABSOLUTELY!! But they still may be legit so please do your homework before spending that kind of money. You can also google the. To see if anybody else has any positive or negative experience with them. Interesting that this organization throws around the term "advanced practice" nursing/nurses, even in the organization's name, given that the term "advanced practice" in the US refers specifically to CRNAs, CNMs, NPs, and CNSs, all of whom are required to have at least an MSN degree. That is clearly not what this organization is talking about. There's no such thing as a BSN-prepared (only) "advanced practice nurse" in the US, regardless of what specialty one is talking about.

I agree with the others that it seems v. fishy that they offer no mailing address or telephone number, just the opportunity to e-mail them. Sounds more like a glorified employment agency than anything else.

Greetings to everyone!
I am a newbee here, i hope you can shed light on my situation. Currently, my H1b application(LCA) is on 10 days posting, I am a direct hire and i will be working in a care home facility. I am a psychiatric nurse and presently here in kSA, i do not have nclex or ielts. I just submitted my transcript, diploma and employment certificate and they processed it for assessment, we have a lawyer who are taking care of the application. I am curious if i will be granted a visa considering this scenario.

hey im thinking the same way..i feel that its possible..though i got my nclex but i dnt have my ielts..and yes they said ielts is a requirement for visa screen..so im confused if it will work out..did u asked ur employer if it wud be good?thnx

hello" on Friday my employer will interview me...i'll ask him on how things will work out. I'l keep u posted with the result.

But, based on what i have read here in most of the articles, H1b is still possible and it is better if you have ielts. first things first, you must find an employer who will sponsor or petition you and then the rest will follow.

In my situation, i have found an employer who is now petitioning me.

Hello again! sorry i still cant send PM...try to google h1b visa and you will find all the answers you needed. But, here are some info. H1b is a visa for a specialty occupation such as nurse, a year experience will do if that is the requirement of your petitioner. There is a lot of paper work involved and your petitioner is the one responsible for this. In my case, we use a lawyer and around 6000usd is the estimated expenses your employer will spend. H1b visa also has a cap of 60,000 meaning there is a limit every year, at this time the cap maybe has not been reached. This are just some of the many info's...enjoy browsing! God Bless!!!
