I have applied for a work visa for the position as a dialysis nurse. I was filed last april 1 2009 and was wondering when will i get to have a visa? Anyone with a similar status of mine???
hi, lemuel!
you can check the status of your case thru USCIS website "case status online", you just need your receipt number written on the top left side of the letter from USCIS.. i think, the usual processing times for Vermont SC is 3 months, but maybe it also depends on each case.. mine is from CA service cntr, according to their processing times, 2 months for the H1B, but it took only 2 weeks to approved.. i'm not so sure if my petitioner paid for premium processing ( usually takes 2 wks, and its quite expensive). again, good luck and God Bless!
they should....but then, in an open market and a democracy, employers still has a choice.
before this thread turns again into a foreigner-bashing one, let me just point out that it is not the nurse applicants fault if they got thru the U.S. inspite of the present situation.it's still the discretion of the concerned government agencies whether they will approve the petition or not.....
I have seen lots of RN positions in dialysis specially in fresenius medical care.. and those vacancies were posted a couple of months ago and still not filled in.. with regards to hiring foreign workers like us, our employer undergone the legal process to obtain our visas. and it is the DOL who approved the LCA (labor certification application), and as far as know, one of the conditions to hire an H1Bs is not to replace american workers..so maybe, the company needs our skills and qualifications to perform in that specialty occupation..

yes, i got the complete documents when applied to them.. maybe it would be better coz visa screen states that you met the requirements by the USCIS and you are eligible to get a US visa..
