Is anyone here applying to the 2017 session? I've seen some other GTC threads from previous years and am wondering if there are any current pre-nursing students lurking around. Those were fun to read, btw.
I just recently took the Kaplan for the first time and will be taking it again in January so I can hopefully get a better score.
Is anyone completely done with the admissions process? I'm anxious to see who gets in and who doesn't because it doesn't seem like there's a sure-fire way to tell based on what I've seen. Time will tell! I sure hope I'm one of the lucky ones.
Hello! I had Jessica LaPointe for A&P 1 and Dr Ross for A&P 2 and I loved them both! From what I've heard, all the teachers are great! It's a lot of information so you have to do a lot of the research yourself. Best advice is always come to class prepared! On the Kaplan I studied my A&P 2 notes for science, math I watched some you tube videos on basic algebra (also check quizlet), and reading/writing I used the Teas Nursing exam book!
All of my professors were great. My advice is to always be ahead and take advantage of all of the study resources offered. Watch the videos and fill out your notes before lecture. Don't wait and go to open lab the week before midterm. The lab assistants are helpful, so ask them questions! As for the Kaplan... I found the Kaplan book useless except for just understanding the format of the test. It made the test seem much harder than it actually ended up being. Math was easy... simple adding/subtracting fractions, percents, decimals. For science, review your A&P notes. Anatomy is the only topic for science. Take the test twice. Your second attempt will be the same questions so write them down and study before taking it again. Good luck!
