Gwinnett Tech Fall 2017

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Is anyone here applying to the 2017 session? I've seen some other GTC threads from previous years and am wondering if there are any current pre-nursing students lurking around. Those were fun to read, btw.

I just recently took the Kaplan for the first time and will be taking it again in January so I can hopefully get a better score.

Is anyone completely done with the admissions process? I'm anxious to see who gets in and who doesn't because it doesn't seem like there's a sure-fire way to tell based on what I've seen. Time will tell! I sure hope I'm one of the lucky ones.

I'm so excited for everyone!

Fyi, acceptance emails were sent out, too.

It's bad when you the first person to turn in the acceptance letter!LOL I'm just too excited!

Congratulations everyone! I am beyond excited to submit my confirmation letter!

It's been such a long road and we all deserve it!!! So happy for everyone!!! By the way, my name is Kimberly. It's so nice to meet you all and start this journey with you guys!!!

Turned in my letter today. I am beyond excited! Can't wait to get started and meet everyone.

My name is Toya. I am excited to meet everyone and begin our journey to becoming great RN's!

Nice to meet y'all!!!! So, the advisor said there is going to be an Orientation in March!! Didn't think it would be so soon! That's so exciting! We should get our "packet" emails soon with all the details! :)

Wow! That was very quick! Normally it's late summer.

Hello Ladies!! Congrats on your acceptance!! I'm am still within my pre reqs with a current 3.5 GPA. Any suggestions on great professors for A&P 1 & 2 ?? Also, any study tips for the Kaplan? Thanks in Advance!!

Hello! I had Jessica LaPointe for A&P 1 and Dr Ross for A&P 2 and I loved them both! From what I've heard, all the teachers are great! It's a lot of information so you have to do a lot of the research yourself. Best advice is always come to class prepared! On the Kaplan I studied my A&P 2 notes for science, math I watched some you tube videos on basic algebra (also check quizlet), and reading/writing I used the Teas Nursing exam book!

Thanks so much for your feedback Kimzie! I truly appreciate it. :). About how many were accepted into your class for the program this year? I am excited for you all and can not wait to finish my pre reqs and apply as well.

All of my professors were great. My advice is to always be ahead and take advantage of all of the study resources offered. Watch the videos and fill out your notes before lecture. Don't wait and go to open lab the week before midterm. The lab assistants are helpful, so ask them questions! As for the Kaplan... I found the Kaplan book useless except for just understanding the format of the test. It made the test seem much harder than it actually ended up being. Math was easy... simple adding/subtracting fractions, percents, decimals. For science, review your A&P notes. Anatomy is the only topic for science. Take the test twice. Your second attempt will be the same questions so write them down and study before taking it again. Good luck!
