last night my last night shift as a pct even if i have to go back tomorrow my mind is not as a nurse assistant any longer, have to appreciate that tis job helped me a lot with the terms, and procedures plus!
soom i gonna be at the er my dreams comes true, guys my exam was 75 questions, i felt that i failed, but yesterday night i realized that i had plenty right answers!
for all of you already rns congratulations, for all the test takers, keep focus, here a not english speaker cuban nurse three years in america, rn july 29-05.

guys, today i have been so emotionally touch by all of you words, it's tuff when you left from your homeland, to start all over again, plus the english barrier, for all of not educated with english nursing programs have been harder, must of my friends still stuck waiting for improvements with the language to move on!
it's sad most of them very good nurses in my country, when i started in this race, i remember when i was detained in inmigration prison in rhode island after got in boston as a refugee, the first thing that i did when i was release, wasn't going to mc donalds or best buy, the person that sponsor me asked me where do you wanna go now in this free country?
i said i wanna go where i can get some nursing books, i rember that i got saunders second edition, what a book!
to prepare for the exam in my case have been a real pleasure enjoying those amazing books that we don't have in my country, i was always upset receiving classes from books edited in the 80s, i appreciate what this country offers when you want to push yourself!
all of you guys can pass this exam, think positive, take as many questions as you can, get all the reviews, i did almust all to make sure that i was expose to all the points of views by differents teachers and professionals!
i have to apologize for my post when i exit from the exam, is a common feeling you don't remember anything you get so nervous, after 36 hours my mind started count down, and i started with the feeling as a winner, because out 75 i couldn't be wrong in most of them, then why if i was borderline the computer did not gave me more to redo- myself quiet contradictory!
now that i remember the questions clearly and i can compare with the reviews that i took, i have to say guys, you will pass, the exam is not as hard as kaplan questions, take mosby cat, take learningextension, master yourself, then you will see and you will experience the same feeling that i did!
i finish my exam in one hour, the questions were hard but when you study, you start thinking as a test taker, and from every disorder you have to understand what are the most concerning situations, and the points to be aware by the care giver in this case the rn!
the hosp experience as a pct helped me a lot, i have been as a pct only for three months, enought to feel the urgent need to be a nurse again, not only for the hard work, but tired of cleaning and not doing anything other than that!
tuff when you have been a pediatric surgical intensive care nurse!
but i learned to deal whit people that have to be not exactly on a medical facility they have to do something else, guys when you pass the boards keep inspired don't give up. don't go to work for your pay check, feel your profession, feel the patient needs, the firsts nursing action in every single book, provide psicological support, now that i can speak as a nurse again, i have to say don't turn yourself in a pain killer provider....so sad.
thats why i really appreciate the work of suzanne here in this forum, helping people to pass, making us to get focus, we all need a bit of discipline thats what suzanne means here too, i will never be thankfull enought to all of you, when i think in the success i think in this forum as a second thing after god only!
guys you could add an rn to your name too, the distance is only the posibilities that you could be able to create to reach your goals, don't forget that the distance bewteen us and our dreams are our actions!
i am looking forward to help people out, make me feel so good being part of my latin community growing process!

Hi Ulices,
I am very happy for you! As a foreign nurse I know how hard it was for you to pass. I have been 5 month in the US and I am fighting with English, NCLEX questions, and with my patience for CA BON (still waiting since April for the processing of aplication).
FELICITARI!= CONGRATUL...! again! I will be following you!
