New to allnurses.com but, I just applied for Nursing School at GTCC and I am so anxious to find out what points are getting accepted! Just wondering how many have applied and what their point range was? That Tea's V was a butt Kicker for me! So anxious to get a letter!
I did some research on the web for NCLEX pass rates between GTCC and Forsyth TCC and if you average out the last 5 years, GTCC has a higher pass rate. But, if you look at them year for year they are very close to one another. Some years FTCC does better, and others GTCC does better. So, I think if you get accepted to either program you will do well.
Did someone say on here that the letters are ready to go out at GTCC?? If so...why, oh why must they torture us with the wait? I saw that the Fall 2011 letters were coming in around March 11th of last year. I sure hope we get ours soon!
As far as how many people applied to the programs, it does seem disheartening, but a lot of people may not get all their requirements done in time, or their paperwork prior to starting if they are accepted. Others may take a spot with another college. So, do not give up and apply to all the programs you want to be considered for.
Waiting not-so-patiently...
I don't know that they are ready to go out, I just heard that from someone. So who really knows. It'd be awesome if they'd send them out a little earlier, but I'm doubting it. I've been stressing about it but I keep telling myself to just chill and wait it out lol.
That's true, a lot of those 500 people may not qualify since Forsyth's Teas score minimum is set so low. But my heart is so set on Gtcc I don't even want to apply anywhere else lol but we shall see, maybe if I get extra motivated I will apply out there
About 3 weeks left!!!!!
Went to Forsyth today to complete my application process for the Fall 2012 ADN Program and they said they accepted people into the Spring 2012 ADN program with points ranging from 154-183.7. This is a bit disheartening for me because I only have 143.3 points by my own calculations. I don't know what the points were to get on the alternate list though, so I guess I will still maintain a small iota of hope. My first preference is the program at GTCC, though.
I only have 45 points for GTCC. I also only have one semester of grades that can be calculated. My only consolation is that I am certain if I do not get accepted for the Fall 2012 program at either GTCC or FTCC I will most definitely be in the running for Spring 2013. I just hate the idea of taking one more semester to complete my degree!
I don't have the option of starting in spring 12 my husbands work hours and then having a 2 yr old who would need night child care wont allow it .....I put all my eggs in one basket with gtcc! I got behind in bio 166 studying for the teas so the past few weeks I have been playing catch up and completely forgot I was going to apply to forysth lol

Oh wow 500 people have already applied at Forsyth! That's a little depressing. From what I've heard it though it was easier to get into Forsyth than Guilford Tech, just because GTCC has fewer points and doesn't accept C's. But who knows which one is most competitive, I'm sure they both are! I guess we will all find out soon.
I live in High Point, so GTCC would probably be my first choice. Also, I work at Moses Cone and all of the nurses here speak very highly of GTCC since they do their clinicals here. But I'm sure both are great programs, hopefully we all get into at least one of them! Less than 3 weeks guys!!
