After a recent EMS run where I was momentarily stumped by a patient's condition, I thought it might be fun to see if it stumps anyone else.
The term: Sack-a-docious
Hint: Patient's chief complaint is, "My lungs be painin' me because of my sack-a-docious."
Anyone?
Transcribed in a medical report: "Patient has a history of a patent foraminal valley..." (patent foramen ovale). Cracked me up. Later in the day, the neurologist saw it in the transcribed report and called me over to see it. (I was tickled that I had already seen it, hehe.)
I can't stand "mersa" for M.R.S.A. either. And "orientated" drives me nuts!
I see all kinds of things in medical reports. I'm going to start recording them!

this is hysterical! I'm waking up my very sleepy daughter with my laughter.
