I have just completed my TEAS V and MAR for the GTCC 2012 Fall ADN Program and wanted to know what others have scored and their points. I am trying to get a feel for how competitive it is to get accepted. Also, if you have been accepted into the Fall 2011 Program, what were your points and TEAS V scores? It is going to be very nerve wracking waiting for letters to be mailed, so I thought we could be supportive of each other and get a feel for where we stand. Thanks to all who respond!
I have applied at DCCC, Forsyth, Surry, and GTCC. I am hoping to get an ok from one of them!! GTCC Mars was like 69
but only a 70 on the TEAS. I hate that test it is awful!! Keep me posted if yall get any news, I wish them letters would come on in!! I am in 166 now and abnormal psych at DCCC and it is hard! I usually do well and have a 4.0 GPA but that will not be the case after this semester. I am really struggling in anatomy this semester, it is a hybrid class. I wish you all much luck!! Maybe we will be classmates!
I'm new to all nurses; but been reading some comments, and I'm so glad people are on here and responding. It's nice to hear SOMETHING when you aren't hearing much from the schools lol. I have applied to GTCC for the Fall nursing and I'm going to apply to Forsyth also. Is anyone else applying to other schools? I have 39 points at GTCC (which is totally stressing me out after hearing some of the higher numbers) and I think I have around 143 at Forsyth. Not really sure how their point system works. But got a 78% on the Teas, and I think Forsyth counts your score on the Teas where as GTCC just counts that you passed? Lol not too sure, but definitely stressing/obsessing about getting these letters back! Has anyone heard how many people applied at GTCC ? And when they will be sending letters out?
Amgladwell12, don't stress over your points. I think I read on a past year thread that some alternates actually made it into the program with 38 points. Hope is never lost, because some people apply to more than one program and give up their seats. While others don't get all there paperwork done in time or don't pass the background check or drug screen. So, don't get disheartened until the very, very last second. I decided yesterday to go ahead and apply to Forsyth Tech too. I just hope I can get my transcripts from my high school in time because I have to send away for them. I went to high school in an American high school in England 25 years ago.
Well that is hopeful, just gotta remain positive I suppose. I'm taking 166 now and I definitely wish I could use those points :/ Oh well. And yes Lmthompson87, I am in the same predicament with the transcripts. I've been to 3 different colleges so hopefully I will be able to get them all in on time. Mogget, I read somewhere about the minimum points being 60 something too but idk!
I want to know how to get 80 points too, that's almost double my points and i've done most of the pre-reqs! Oh well, good luck to us all! One more month!!
Lol yea me too! I only have 42 and I'm on my last pre req which with an A would only put me at 54 since its bio 166! But I don't have any of the extra stuff like med tech and etc! I know for previous high school grads they get a lot of extra points for graduating with a college tech prep track... I did.... but it's been 8 years so it doesn't count lol!
