Not sure if there's one of these started already, but it's still pretty far off, so I thought I'd make one. Have any of you guys taken the TEAS yet? If not, where are you taking it? I didn't see any dates listed for GSU.
Maybe the tread is so small b/c students decided they didn't like the competion at gsu and decided not to apply. Fat chance, but the thought is still nice.
I agree! I am keeping my fingers crossed! Another thing that people could be doing is waiting for the spring semester to apply since there are usually less applicants ...I just want this over with! We will ALL get in!!!
I actually posted without quoting you before; however, I could not delete my comment for some reason...(My apologies to everyone for the double-post)...Hey Breezy7, the test was awesome! However, I am taking the lab exam we have today with Dr. Chapman's 2:30pm class today since I had the 1103 lab exam right before it. That was very kind and understanding of her to let me do that. I didn't even ask for that and she just offered:) By the way, who are you taking A&P with? I had Dr. Ross for both and she is awesome! You will end up retaining the info for life. I am actually going to go and study for the lab exam now...but I will see you in class (hopefully in nursing school as well :). Have a great one!
I'm taking A&P with Borek right now, and I have Chapman for A&P II over the summer. I'm definitely struggling in Borek's class, but at least my Micro lab and this Bio class are super easy. I like feeling like I'm working hard for my grade - it's definitely information I'll retain simply due to needing to study so thoroughly! I would've loved to experience a class with Dr. Ross; I've heard she's fantastic. Good luck on the lab exam! It was everything my TA prepared us for, and wasn't too bad at all, so don't stress! :-)
Hi,I was checking the mailbox and worrying about essays etc less that a year ago;I remember, that was not fun.
I am a GSU ACE student, the Teas test you can take at GSU is sent directly to GSU in just a couple of days. The current class averages are GPA:3.88 TEAS 92. I know the national scores look very low.
I am one of the bottom ranking students with a GPA 3.8 and TEAS 88. (Someone has to be at the bottom!)
The program is challenging & wonderful. The faculty is student focused and friendly. My fellow students are so bright, motivated and great to work with.
I wish you all the best of luck. I think you will enjoy being a nursing student here.

Thank you for your encouragement sn.amk! I hate that this whole process has us doubting ourselves, all because of a few digits (GPA and TEAS scores). I'm glad you're enjoying the program so far and are having a positive experience.
BTW, for all this worry about getting IN to nursing school, I'm increasingly more worried about finding a job once I get OUT of school. Based on some posts I've read here on AN, the job market ain't too kind to new RNs, generally speaking.
I am worried too. All we hear is how great the job market is for nursing, but they forget to mention for experienced nurses. Some of my friends got externs while in nursing school and continue working as a PCT once the extern was over, eventually working on the floor as a nurse once passing the NCLEX. I figure I'll get my CNA- so I can get a job in the hospital as a tech- than go on as a nurse.
If I don't get in, I was planning on re-taking chem I and A&P II to help increase my gpa. any suggestion on who I should take?
any input would be greatly appreciated.
Oh gosh, I hadn't thought about fall classes. I'll be finished with my pre-reqs this summer, so there really won't be anything I *need* to take. If I don't get accepted for fall, I suppose I could go ahead and knock out nutrition and any other nursing course I would be allowed to register for.
BTW, what happens if you took something like nutrition before you get into the program? You wouldn't have to take it once you get in the program, so would that significantly lighten your courseload? Is there a limit to how many nursing program classes you can take before you're actually accepted?
Yes! I was browsing the thread from last year, and a lot of folks recommended that ACE students take Nutrition over the summer. However, I don't think any of the other requirements are open to you until you're in the program. They save them for students with seats; otherwise, a class could fill up before people in the program could sign up for it.
