Not sure if there's one of these started already, but it's still pretty far off, so I thought I'd make one. Have any of you guys taken the TEAS yet? If not, where are you taking it? I didn't see any dates listed for GSU.
Happy birthday breezy! My birthday is on the 30th, so hopefully I'll be opening birthday cards AND a GSU acceptance letter around that date *fingers crossed*.
GSUhopeful, I'm taking Comm./Cult. Div. next semester. I don't know anyone who has taken it yet, but I wouldn't expect it to be too difficult.
I've taken the class, you have a mid-term, group project, and an interview. As long as you attend class you should come out of it with an easy A. The class is basically an hour in-service in the work place to be culturally sensitive so they won't get sued spread out to 16 wks. Hopefully you get a better teacher than I had, b/c the class is absolutely boring and the teacher did nothing to make it interested.

Thanks for the summary kuhelski. Sounds a lot like what I expected. I sure wish it was offered online during summer, last thing I want to be bothered with is a boring class while my brain is slowly being fried by the heat.:flamesonb
hey you guys i have been following this blog. I applied for the fall as well!
i don't know if you guys know but you can check your status online!
here is the website:
https://webdb.gsu.edu/applicantstatus/index.cfm?logout=true&refresh=true
Welcome to our little group, floridababy!
As for the status website, it really doesn't do much good, LOL. I remember checking it when I applied to the university (as an undergrad transfer student). It pretty much said "Ready for Review" all the time. If my memory is correct, the status also didn't change for awhile after I was accepted to the university, so it doesn't seem to be the most up-to-date information available.
Like someone said earlier (in an old thread?), I honestly think they just have us check it to give us something to do.
(Note: Yes, I still check that stupid website daily - just to see if something might have changed LOL)
haha yeah i check it a million times a day! when i turned my application in, it was updated that day! so i feel that they are on top of it.
Well, I'll give you that...they also updated my status to "Complete" for all of the application materials the same day I turned it in. But for the important stuff (y'know, like, whether I got accepted or not!), I've heard that it isn't reflected on the website. I think they "officially" notify people through mailed letters; probably because too many mistakes could be made by notifying people on the website/email. Can you imagine if someone hit the wrong computer button and somebody who was accepted was mistakenly classified as "denied"? It's a lot harder to mess up a letter - plus, I'm sure they have the letters personally signed by at least one person.
So, my mailman showed up awhile ago, but I didn't rush out to check the mailbox. I'm totally keeping my cool....

Or even worse - a false acceptance for someone who was actually denied! Can you even imagine?!! That would crush me.
No letter today. Crossing my fingers for tomorrow. I'm turning to Ben & Jerry's and pulling all of my hair out if it doesn't come... le sigh!
In all seriousness, though, it's pretty fantastic to have a thread like this going! You guys are helping me keep whatever is left of my sanity

oh breezy I feel the same! Has anyone taken Community/Cultural diversity? Its part of the traditional first semester schedule and an ACE pre-req.
