GSU Fall 2012

Published

Not sure if there's one of these started already, but it's still pretty far off, so I thought I'd make one. Have any of you guys taken the TEAS yet? If not, where are you taking it? I didn't see any dates listed for GSU.

OMG- I am so worried, I checked my status and it said complete but it said they recieved it on the 14 not the 1st. I hope to god that is when they reviewed my app. otherwise I might screwed ;(

troop go check your mail, there might be a letter waiting for you lol.

my mailman hasn't showed up yet :( I'm sure letters have been sent out, I wonder who has been accepted already!

btw troop which time are you planning on registering for the comm/cultural diversity class?

I'm taking Howell's MW 1:50 PM class. It was the only one that fit in with my schedule (I'm also taking BIOL 1120 and Abnormal Psych).

Hey guys.

I've been freaking out all week waiting for a letter... found this forum and read every single post hahaha

I'm applying for ACE. I have a 3.78 and 88 Teas. Pretty average compared to the stats.... I'm going crazy.

I applied for Fall 2011 but I had a 3.58 and 89 Teas... I was wait listed. (How I scored lower on the teas the second time idk!)

Then I missed the deadline to apply for Spring :( Very bad day.

PRAYING a letter will come in the mail tomorrow.

What year are all of y'all? So mad my four year plan was ruined lol

Welcome to our little corner of Allnurses.com, hcs! You have a really competitive GPA and TEAS, don't worry too much about the average. I think we're ALL competitive applicants, but the decision will ultimately be up to the mysterious "committee".....

At any rate, GSU considers me a senior. I'm actually a 2nd career student; this is my first semester back in school since 2002.

Welcome!! :-) I'm a 5th year senior! Finished up my first degree but still need about 9 residency hours to graduate with it. Planning on fulfilling the requirement with nursing courses, so I'll be graduating with two when I'm finished! Though I'm hoping that I can graduate with my first while still being enrolled in nursing school. That would be pretty sweet.

P.S. - graduating "on time" is overrated ;-). Take as long as you need to - if anything, you'll be better prepared! Most folks I know who graduated in four years ultimately realized that their first degree wasn't what they wanted to pursue, after all! I used up my HOPE scholarship in the first four years and am now paying with gov't loans, but I wouldn't trade my first degree for anything! I know it's better prepared me for my chosen field!

Yep, it took me 5 years for my first degree as well. I started out as a pre-veterinary medicine major, planned to become a vet. Then, I decided I'd be more interested in pharmacy. Ultimately wound up taking a microbiology course (required for pre-med/health sciences majors), and I fell in love with micro. So, I changed my major to micro, and I wouldn't trade that for anything. Now, I don't remember a lot of the micro stuff I learned (LOL), but I remember that I liked it a lot!

What's your major, hcs?

Pre-nursing is my major! I also have a minor in psychology... considering pursuing a double-major in nursing and psych if I don't get in to fall, will give me something to do in the mean time. I'm a junior, not even 21 yet hahaha

OK, so I was a sophomore in high school when you were born, LOL. Ya know, we used to ride dinosaurs to school back in the day.....:lol2:

Welcome! :) Don't worry about graduating on time. Not many people do. I'm a pre-nursing major with a minor in biology. I'm only 19 so I think I'm the youngest one here lol. You have great stats btw, I'm sure you'll get in this time around.

Well I'm glad I'm not round only youngsters, I think I'm on the extended plan. I started college back when my first child was 8 months old. Life put my plans on stand still, but I'm back and working hard trying to finish what I started 13 years ago. Hopefully I'll get some good news soon so I can say "I took the 15 year plan". I really hope we all get in and I could start putting some faces to the post.

Has anyone heard anything? I felt certain this thread would start moving this weekend! Has anyone spoken with the nursing dep't recently?
