GRU CNL 2014 entering class

Published

Is anyone applying early decision for the 2014 entering class? Does anyone know how long it takes to get a decision/interview email? Does anyone know the statistics for acceptances from last year?

So, I interviewed back in December and I still haven't heard. Is anyone else out there in the same boat?

Also, for those that are hearing back now about their acceptances... did your status online (on the GRU applications status check webpage) change to "Decision Made" before getting a phone call or letter?

Just out of curiosity, has anyone know of anybody that has gotten rejected or had a response other than being accepted into the program? Seems like everyone gets accepted!

Have you tried contacting them at all? Sometimes people have gotten lost in the mix of things.

Question for any current students......will we get a supply/scrubs/item list over the summer? Or do you all remember waiting until after orientation to buy similar things? Thanks!

You will get a supply list over the summer around June or July. I bought pretty much everything before orientation because there isn't much time in between orientation and the first day of class.

Thank you, that definitely helps! Out of curiosity, what made you choose GRU and the CNL program?

I've always wanted to go into nursing but it's a full time program and I've always worked through school. Fortunately, we are comfortable on my husband's salary and I am able to go back to school full time without worrying about money. Since I already had a bachelor's degree, I didnt exactly want a second one and this offered me the opportunity to get my RN, as well as a graduate degree. GRU is a great school with an incredible reputation (MCG) and it's also the only entry level Masters program in the state, so that made the decision pretty easy. I LOVE this program and the school. =o)

In response to the supply list/purchasing of scrubs....wait until they tell you exactly what to buy and get embroidered before you do all that. But once you get the information, go ahead and get it done. With over 100 students all wanting the same thing at the same time, the waitlist gets long. There were a few in our class that did not have scrubs by the start of school.

And a few more things I've been thinking about....

Familiarize yourself with the hospital BEFORE the first day of clinical (especially GRMC) and leave a few minutes for wiggle room. You can get lost easier than you think in the beginning and the elevators can be sooooo slow (or broken).

Find an app or a recorder to record lectures...you WILL relisten to them, and ECHO (the school class recording system) isn't so reliable (sometimes just user error) and you will be the most popular kid in the class if you have a copy when no one else can get ECHO to work!

Someone also asked about getting accepted....I've not heard of anyone who didn't get in to the program, but I'm sure a lot of people don't go around sharing that too freely. They may have been on here during the application/interview process and then just drop off. I don't know, but most of us remember each other from interviews or orientation and never really wondered "What happened to that one guy...?" =o) Good luck to some and Congrats to others!

MrsJTL,

Thank you for the great information. You said ECHO is a school recording system, how does that work?

Do any current students generally remember when registration was in terms of class starting/orientation?

anyone received acceptance confirmation ?

I had an interview on March 21, 2014. Has anyone heard anything???
