GRU CNL 2014 entering class

Published

Is anyone applying early decision for the 2014 entering class? Does anyone know how long it takes to get a decision/interview email? Does anyone know the statistics for acceptances from last year?

Congratulations to everyone who has been accepted! I applied a couple weeks ago and my references haven't finished up their forms yet. Should I expect an interview question only after they have all arrived? If so, about how long do you guys think that it would take for them to contact me for the interview? Exciting times! Can't wait to see if I get in. Or not :/[/quote']

If you have everything turned in by the application deadline and you meet whatever their criteria is for an interview, they typically contact you a few weeks after the application deadline. Good luck! It won't be too much longer for you all before you hear something!

If you haven't already, I would send your references a reminder about them filling out your references. I can't remember exactly where it's at, but I think it's where you log in to fill out your application.

Thanks very much! I looked again today and all my references has submitted their stuff. So no we wait another month or so.

By the way, midwives are *AWESOME* :D

Are you applying to the Augusta or Athens campus?

After I'm done with this program, I am applying to Frontier for their Post-Master's Certificate+DNP program for Nurse-Midwifery. :-) I had a homebirth with my 4th...*love* midwives!

I've applied to Athens, because I loved the three years I lived there (moved out here to Oregon last June). However, I'm open to Augusta, too; I lived there for 20 years or so.

My wife and I had Certified Professional Midwives here in Portland, as well as Nurse Midwives for our first little one just last week. It was an incredible experience. Love natural childbirth? Come to Portland ;)

I had a Certified Professional Midwife for my homebirth and a Certified Nurse-Midwife as my back-up provider. LOVED the collaborative care between the two since my CNM was very supportive of homebirth (I would never have had that with a physician). I definitely plan on moving to a midwifery-friendly state when all is said and done. Georgia is okay, but there's a lot of improvements that could be made.

Glad to hear you had such a great experience!

Anyway, good luck! Glad all your references got in!

I applied in December and it took about three or four weeks for them to receive everything. I am interviewing next week. So it was about three weeks after they received everything that I was contacted.

I am sure you will hear something soon, if you have not already!

Okay friends, I was contacted for the interview early last week!

So, I haven't interviewed for nursing school before. Anybody have any advice for this interview? It is scheduled to be only 15 min, over the phone, since I live in Oregon and all.

Congrats! I am interviewing in person, but I was wondering the same thing about the interview. I would love some advice on what to expect.

It's really laid back. Just be knowledgeable about the role of the clinical nurse leader and you should be good.

I found that reading The White Paper was very helpful. Found here: https://www.aacn.nche.edu/publications/white-papers/cnl

Does anyone know when classes/orientation is?? (Preferably for the Athens campus, but if not Augusta would give me a good idea too!)

I interviewed Friday and they were so nice and laid back. It went well, considering the fact that I was out of power and internet from the storm and did not get the email until I arrived that the interviews were cancelled. There were a few others who showed up, as well, and they graciously interviewed us. Now the waiting game really begins!
