Any nurses here who are working in a true Green House?

To be honest it looks like just another advertising ploy.

The philosophies are not unique, just the catch phrases.

This is a truly evidence-based model with outside, independent research by Rosalie Kane, Susan Horn, Barbara Bowers and others.

It certainly is based upon humanism and person-directed care but it is committed to deinstitutionalizing skilled care to support meaningful life and engagement for the elders who live in the home. And uses a specific methodology to work with organizations for comprehensive transformation.

It is the most powerful work I have done in the past 30 years of working toward deep change.

I start a new job as the DON at a 'green house' facility next month. I can't wait. The philosophy is intriguing and the care is unbelievably good.
