Hi all,
I am new to this site and new to nursing - hopefully! I am applying to the LPN program at GL Tech evening division. Is anyone else here going or has gone to that program? I am taking the NET in June (the last test date) and I just ordered study materials. I have to pass it because it is the last time they offer it!!! I am 40yrs old and completely changing my career so I am hoping I am not the oldest in the program if I get in. So send out a hello if you are going to the program at Lowell Tech.
Thanks
Susan
Hi Sawyer12,
Good luck in the CNA course!
I do think that you are doing the right thing, it will only benfit you when you re-apply, because now you will have a year experience in nursing!
I did the same thing,
I just finished a CNA program in Lowell, it took me three weeks, and now I'm just waiting to take my test through the red cross for my license. I have luckly landed a job as a CNA and can start as soon as I recieve my license.
I will be working per-dem, which will work out great- hopefully if I get accepted into the LPN program!
I had tried getting into the Voke for Sept. but did not make it! I was so bumbed so, I did some research and found out that Mount Wachusetts had an LPN program, so I applied to Mount Wachusetts LPN program which starts in Jan.,
I passed what is called the Teas test to be accepted and had to take some pre-rec classes before getting in. I finished them over the summer, and now I'm just waiting for my letter! I should recieve it next week
It dosnt stop there! I am now now taking A&P I and a sociology classes for the RN program, iI need three more pre-rec's for the RN program!
I pray that I get accepted into the LPN program, but for some reason I don't I will apply for the RN.
Well good luck with everything!

Hello - I am taking the NET Test at Lowell Tech in December. If you do not mind sharing your wisdom with me, please let me know if the "essay" section of the NET Test (taken at Lowell Tech) asks for only just one paragraph to be written by the test taker, or does the school expect an entire five-paragraph traditional essay to be written during the test. I am a bit nervous about the essay section of the NET Test. Thank you for any and all advice that you may have to provide.
Just wanted to update while I have the moment to do so. School is in full swing, and so far I've been doing well. It is true all you do is study, don't have time to make much to eat so I live off of pb&j sandwhiches and whatever my boyfriend brings to me, and it's exhausting. But fortunately I enjoy learning about it all and it's so exciting to be able to tell your family what you know.I also work 3rd shift on the opposite weekends of school so alternating back and forth from 1st and 2nd shift for school and 3rd for work is somewhat of a pest for me but it's alright. And yes, there are 40 day and 40 night students admitted to the program each year. Just want to let you guys know that on top of your tuition whether it being in-district or out-of-district the price of graduating for each class is somewhere around $1500. So just keep that in mind. We started raising money the second week of school for it.
Good luck to all of you for 2010!
Hello Everyone - I will be applying to GLT as well. Does anyone know - if the "essay" is in a 5 paragraph form?
What type of questions - are they going to ask me? I hope i don't freeze up.
hi guys!
I took the NET last year and I passed but I was wait listed so I'll be applying again this year! The essay portion of the test wasnt too hard. And I dont think it'll be a five paragraph long essay that they'll be expecting. Last year they didnt ask for that.
Once you send them your application they'll send you a confirmation letter.
I absolutely CANNOT wait to take the test and HOPEFULLY pass again this time around and (finger crossed) get in as well!!!
Good luck to everyone on their test. Some of my nurse friends say that if you successfully graduated from high school then you should be able to pass the NET...so good luck and pass so we can all become nurses!! :heartbeat
