Hi all,

I am new to this site and new to nursing - hopefully! I am applying to the LPN program at GL Tech evening division. Is anyone else here going or has gone to that program? I am taking the NET in June (the last test date) and I just ordered study materials. I have to pass it because it is the last time they offer it!!! I am 40yrs old and completely changing my career so I am hoping I am not the oldest in the program if I get in. So send out a hello if you are going to the program at Lowell Tech.

so really really funny.. I was in walmart with my friend last night...not even that close to me and I was in the middle isle where all the 20 cent crayons and 50 cent notebooks are. She was looking at my book list and was loudly exclaiming you have how many classes? You are %^$# crazy! across the isle a young girl just asked are you going to lowell? I was like ya are you? She said yes. I asked day or evening? She said evening. I was like me too! I noticed her appearance sand just asked are you on the allnurses website? She was like ya! whats your name? I said Jmarie. I was like are you allwehopefor? She was like ya!!! HAHAHAHAHA how funny!!!

Still havent found a watch I am just going to purchase one online. Hey can you post Allwehopefor that book she said we have to get even though it wasnt on the list ..the testing one i think it was?

Ok so much to do..cant even think straight. I need to handle my money situation!

Too funny! What a small world. I have yet to attend the boot camp but will be going next week. Do I need to bring a notebook or anything?

How ironic was that last night?! It was FATE, seriously. Never knew I could have such a good time in Walmart in my life..and so happy to meet someone! :-)

Um I attempted googling the book as well as looking on Amazon. They said it was called Nursing Fundamentals Success by Davis. He also is the author of one of the other books we were required to order. So far, I don't think I've found the right one. She said they could've altered the name and the appearance of the book. We should reask when we go on Monday.

I've been looking online for a watch too but haven't had any luck. If you find one let me know where you ordered from please?

Oh and when I came home last night I told this whole story to my boyfriend basically freaking out and he was just sitting there like "uhhhh huh yupp you guys are crazy." He doesn't understand lol.

Keke- I'd bring a notebook, highlighters, and a pen/pencil :-)

I am new to this site as well and I am trying to attend Mount Wachusetts I passed the test and have taken all my pre-recs. just waiting to hear if I'M accepted! I will know in sept. I had attended the voke about 7 years ago but had to drop out due to a hardship and never returned until now! and I'M SO GLAD!!!! you will do fine Susan, just study and have family support! it's tough! there are a mix of ages! The teachers are great! two of them are still there! Good Luck!

The count down is on for my final days of having a life before school begins. I have been crazy busy getting my kids ready to go back to school and to get my stuff as well. I really enjoyed bootcamp and recommend it to future students. I really learned some great test taking skills and tricks. But more importantly it was nice to meet Allwehopefor and a few other class mates that could relate to my anxiety and fears.

Jmarie- I'm looking forward to meeting you soon.

HDFATBOY- Love the name and I love to ride! Good luck with getting into Mount Wachusetts and good for you for continuing to follow your dreams.

Keke-allwehopefor- anything on the last 2 days that stuck out as being important or nice to know?? A cab hit my car so annoying!! But ya I couldn't make last session either!!!!! I would really appreciate anything you guys can tell me- I really am sad I missed out on the past grads being there.. :(

The past grads just told us it wouldl be difficult and to find a smart person and latch on to them. lol I wish I asked them to explain what a typical day was but I just didn't think of it then. It was actually a bit chaotic and we didn't really hear anything that we didn't already know. Thats just my opinion though.

As far as the information that the teacher gave us, I felt that was great. She gave us some good handouts and we watched a movie about how to take a multiple choice test. She did say that most of the information would be discussed in orientation so I wouldn't worry much about it. I hope that you guys are on my clinical rotation and I'm already hoping someone isn't. lol

oh noooo keke even though we are on evenings we get split up?? Ya there is 1 person who and god love her but I really would find this person to be a distraction...I feel bad because I love people but there is always 1 in a group right? either way its what 10 more days? Thanks keke for your response..by the way if you dont mind me asking what town do you live in?? I dont know if u already mentioned that..Ok I am looking through the books now..I really like how the pharm book is written!

Keke I am soooo excited to meet you! We will have to tell each other what we will be wearing that day to find each other! Alright ladies- I just have to find a way to get a loan- My Financial aid info had to be verified so I am awaiting that. I know I am going to need a loan to help pay bills because I am lowering my hours and I work on commission not so bad when you dont have a mortgage and house stuff to pay for but unfortunately i do... I am all over the place so I will be back to check on site tomorrow or something! ((HUG)) i am scared but sooo damn excited!
