  1. Hi, Instead of re-inventing the wheel I was hoping that someone would have a shift round checklist that I could use for our long term care facility. I would be great if you could email me directly or just post it here. Thanks, Kristen
  2. Hi, Does anyone have any training material on how to handle residents that refuse care based on race? We do training all the time on Resident Rights but I also want to do some training on how to handle this difficult situations. Thank you!

  4. Hey Sawyer, Glad to hear you are in for the upcoming year. I am still in the program, switched to days. It has been really hard but it will be worth it in the end. There are many people who work and go thru the program at the same time. I give them a lot of credit, I don't think I would be able to do both and still pass. Any questions feel free to email me and good luck to all of you!
  5. Is the test on A&P on Monday or Tuesday???
  6. Hey girls, I was away on vacation but will be in tomorrow. What needs to be done before class tomorrow?
  7. Thats awesome! I am so happy for you!!!!
  8. Hi Allwehopefor, I wish I had some answers for you. I don't know of any other way to pay for living expenses during school other than those two loans that you mentioned. I have been told by another former student that this WILL consume you for the next 10 months! I was told that if you feel that the first semester is easy and you start to slack off you will never catch back up. She told me that her class started with forty students and ended with about half of that. I know that I am going to have to find a balance between my family and school. But I know that my family will be the ones to take a back seat for the next ten months and that is how it is going to be. By taking this course I have agreed to miss all of my kids sporting and dance events as well as all of their events at school. That sucks for me but it really sucks for my kids but they will live. My husband will be the one that will feel the brunt of school because if I am not studying, I will be playing with my kids. I am sure that there will be family time but I am aware that it will be very few and far between. I am sure there will be days when my husband and my kids hate me, but heck they will get over it! Just think If we start the program and then quit or fail then we are stuck with student loans that still will have to be paid, and we will have nothing to show for it. So spend as much time with your boyfriend now and maybe make Friday nights your date night??? I don't know but I am sure the two of you will find what works best for you. And as far as friends go...by the end of the program you will have forty friends cheering you on and hoping for the best for you.
  9. Hi, The past grads just told us it wouldl be difficult and to find a smart person and latch on to them. lol I wish I asked them to explain what a typical day was but I just didn't think of it then. It was actually a bit chaotic and we didn't really hear anything that we didn't already know. Thats just my opinion though. As far as the information that the teacher gave us, I felt that was great. She gave us some good handouts and we watched a movie about how to take a multiple choice test. She did say that most of the information would be discussed in orientation so I wouldn't worry much about it. I hope that you guys are on my clinical rotation and I'm already hoping someone isn't. lol
  10. Hi, The count down is on for my final days of having a life before school begins. I have been crazy busy getting my kids ready to go back to school and to get my stuff as well. I really enjoyed bootcamp and recommend it to future students. I really learned some great test taking skills and tricks. But more importantly it was nice to meet Allwehopefor and a few other class mates that could relate to my anxiety and fears. Jmarie- I'm looking forward to meeting you soon. HDFATBOY- Love the name and I love to ride! Good luck with getting into Mount Wachusetts and good for you for continuing to follow your dreams.
  11. Too funny! What a small world. I have yet to attend the boot camp but will be going next week. Do I need to bring a notebook or anything?
  12. How was boot camp?
  13. Hi, I am on vacation this week so I won't be going to boot camp until next week, let me know how it goes.
  14. Hi, I think that if you are going to apply for the first set of admissions I would just sign up and take an A&P class. The A&P classes are very difficult and you could use your free time to study and do really well in that college class. Although maybe being a CNA helped some people get in, neither I or jmarie are CNA's and we got in. I don't know if ALLWEHOPEFOR is a CNA. I think that if you do really well in the college class you should get in with your high NET results and a good A&P grade. If you set up your interview in the first interview process that would be around November (I think the first testing is October)then you could ask you college professor to maybe write a letter of recommendation along with what your current grade is in the class. And then when the class is over in December you could submit your transcript. This is just my opinion but you need to do whatever feels right for you. It is so hard to guess because I know someone who got in two years ago with no college experience or medical experience and she did just okay on the NET. Go figure....... Good luck with whatever you decide and keep us posted.
  15. I just called and we only need to wear the scrubs to clinical. She told me that we can wear whatever we want to the classrooms. She said even "pajama bottoms".
