Hi! Anyone else start the lvn program at grayson this fall? Just looking to see if I have any buddies.

I did not see anytime written on my letter for the orientation just the date July 14. I am sure we will know the time when we submit the acceptance letter.All the best guys

Congrats to all that got in !! I just received my letter to find out I'm the #2 alternate, I'm trying not to be too excited but I'm def. still hopeful :) looking forward to the orientation and hope to get in !

I don't have a letter with the orientation times either. I am sure they will let us know with another letter, or after we return the acceptance letters. Probably have to get a count before they arrange the times, so they know if they will need to split it into two sessions, I dunno.

Vetmed you will get in...You will be suprised...They wouldnt have as many alternates as they do, if there wasn't a chance for ya!! A lot of people will not accept their spots so be prepared :)

majesticcrystal- I was in a wreck Monday- my car had to be towed and now I'm having to pay to have it fixed, too! Odd that we both just had wrecks, BUT my acceptance letter sure turned my week around!! :)

Can't wait to meet everyone!!!

I know..my letter turned my week around too! Maybe our anticipating the arrival of the letters contributed to our accidents, LOL..No, things just happen like that, but at least it turned out positive! Sorry you wrecked your car too!

Does anyone know (or can anyone find out) how many alternate's there are? Also, do ANY alternates even tend to get into the program?

From reading other posts, and this one I have only seen 13 alternates. That is quiet a few so your chances are good, just go to orientation and see how it goes. They may tell you then if you are in cause everyone will have turned in their acceptance letters. The longest you will probably have to wait to know, will be July 14th so hang in there and dont stress, you got this!! :)

Lindsey, if it helps..Most people have a few shots or CPR card to get also, so if they dont do that before class starts,then alternates take their spots. There are a lot of reasons spots will open up, so stay positive!

Thank you majesticcrystal. I know that there will be circumstances why people won't be able to move forward with the program...but I'm having to count on 8 people to decide that (the 5 standbys, then the other 2 alternates ahead of me)! When there are only 80 spots, 8 is a big number. I couldn't imagine getting this far & not going forward. But who knows, I hope that happens for my sake! Another girl that got accepted, her & I had the EXACT same grades on the TEAS, AP class, everything. She got in & I got waitlisted...they said I didn't have my chicken pox vaccine, but I did. It's on 1 piece of paper with all of my other shots that I've had. It's just all so crazy! I am trying my best to stay positive! Thank you again!!

I understand how you feel lyndsey , I'm excited too, but am wondering how many alternates the will take, hopefully we will be selected! They told me I was also missing my 2nd chicken pox vaccine , even though it was on my paper with my other vaccines. I will include another copy of my vaccine record with the letter to be mailed back. Thank you for being so optimistic majesticcrysal it's helping me stay positive :) Im very happy for all that have been accepted and hope that many of the alternates (my self included) get in !!!! I'm rooting for us lyndsey :)

Does anyone know where we might do our clinicals? Does anyone know exactly is in the nursing tote? I am super curious and I can not find any information on the GCC website. Thanks in advance and congrats to everyone!!
