Grand Canyon University RN to BSN Reviews

Howdy all, I bit the bullet and after much research, I decided on Grand Canyon! Wow, I did not expect BSN schools to be like used car salesmen--hounding me by emails and phone calls. Rather impressed on how Grand Canyon sort of left me alone, but at the same time kept in touch.

Commence my first class Sept 30th, excited, yet very nervous, as I'm not a big fan of school, LOL! I did extremely well on my Associate degree, graduated back in 2009 from Northern Virginia Community College. We shall see.

Would love to hear from past and present Grand Canyon RN to BSN students.

Thank you. I was trying to determine if receiving an A in this class is even feasible. I am just so disappointed with this current class and the poor grading methods.

Yes some profs march to their own drum......But some students (not saying u) do forget to look at the Rubric. I recall a few assignments where not all the required info was in the instructions.....so if u did not look at the Rubric, you would have missed vital info that needed to be covered.

I did use the rubric and the information was there. I was marked down significantly because I did not use the specific verbiage of the rubric and because my thesis statement was deemed to be unclear (as I did not use the words "in this paper" to signify the thesis statement). My grade was about a full ten points below my lowest grade of the program.

Hi! I was wondering if anyone has taken hlt-308 Risk management. How was the class and assignments? Any group projects? I'm so burnt out that I want my last class to be simple haha Thanks in advance!

I had to take 2 "anything" classes and took AMP 450..NO group projects....VERY straight forward class......2nd class was HLT 317, which did have a group project, but very straight forward!

I just finished AMP 450 and you're right, very straight forward. I might have to look into HLT 317. Thanks!

Not to be rude to my fellow HLT 317 classmates...but I was amazed on how POOR the writing level was in that class. We had to critique a fellow classmates paper..then post it to the forum..so everyone saw everything.....I was amazed that many had no clue what APA was! Many in the class were not nurses, but other medical fields. What was funny (sad) that thew person that critiqued my paper (which was not perfect) but the comments that person made on my paper, made NO sense at all....Was quite comical....Was very obvious they had no clue what APA was. I was surprised it counted as an "anything" class as it was sooo basic....a very basic research class....

What class?

Hello,

I am interested to know has anyone who has graduated from this program received an MSN from a different college afterwards? Is a BSN from GCU accepted at all schools?

Not sure why it would not be..its an accredited school....Does not just have an online nursing program, but an actual old fashioned "classroom" BSN program, lol I know of one that is getting her Masters elsewhere, but not sure which school

Yes, just like any other school that is accredited. Echoing Flames. It is a 'real' school, complete with a 'real' campus, sports teams, dorms and nursing program. I know others that have gone on for their NP to other schools.

Hey guys!! I know this seems to be the million dollar question but I will be starting my Capstone class in about a month and I was wondering if someone could PM me professors that they had a decent experience with. Someone gave me 1 name and she is not available! OR if you took someone that I should avoid lol I wouldn't mind those names! On a scale, 1-10 1 being avoid to 10 being must have... I would like a 7-10 LOL

Thanks for your help! I am getting anxious I am sure my SSA is ready for me to graduate
