Nursing Students School Programs

Hey everyone! Has anyone heard of Grand Canyon University's accelerated BSN program? It just launched this year, and was wondering if anyone is applying to it? ABSN - two locations: Sun City and Tuscon.

Oh really? I don’t know anyone taking it so I don’t know the insides of the program. But it sounds promising. I hope I’m making the right choice though.

Selma- can you give a little more insight. I’m curious as well as I was planning to attend as well.
thanks!

I just registered for the program. Starting pre requisites in November and I'm planning to start in the fall.
It's my understanding that this is a brand new program for the college so I'd honestly expect a few hiccups.
If anyone has any advice or suggestions I'm all ears.

I begin the Tucson program Jan 04! I say stick with it. It beats Pima's 28 month CEP BSN program. Have you received a conditional acceptance letter or anything?
Alright y’all, I begin Spring 2021. Can anyone provide any insight about the program?

I guess it’s literally 90% online and not 50/50 like the way it has been advertised and been said. There also wasn’t any powerpoints or any other guidance but many complained, so they are starting to give out powerpoints (not as helpful). And the Phoenix location isn’t allowing any in-person clinicals yet, but almost every other nursing program in Arizona has in-person clinicals. I’m kind of conflicted, but I’m hoping the program changes and gets better in January.

I may be starting the Tucson program in January. Do you know if it’s 90% online because of COVID-19 or is that how it is going to be? I’ve been debating if I should get my bachelors degree in something else first because I only have a few semesters left or just start this program in January like I was planning. But hearing this kind of makes me want to wait so the program has some time to get the kinks out.

You learn the foundation of nursing by yourself. It’s all online with the exception of in-person lab, simulations, & clinicals. It’s a self-directed program. I would prefer not to have a nursing program like this, but GCU is non-profit, has a good reputation compared to other nursing schools, & is regionally accredited (which is important depending on your future goals).
