  1. Thanks for the advice everyone!! I actually got accepted off the wait list for the BSN program at my current school, so thankfully I don’t have to worry about getting a different degree!
  2. I just got a spot officially yesterday! And so did a friend of mine!
  3. Hi guys! I am having a hard time making a decision right now and thought I’d come here for advice. I’ve applied to the BSN program at my university twice now and haven’t been accepted. (My GPA and test scores are pretty good it’s just SO competitive!) I’m currently an alternate at another university for a BSN program and will go there if I’m accepted. My backup plan is to either change my major and get my degree in psychology since I can graduate in three semesters and then do a second bachelors nursing program after that, or I can do a 17 month ABSN program starting in January. Has anyone gotten a degree in a different field before nursing school? Benefits? Regrets?
  4. I only used a TEAS prep book and thought that was helpful. The TEAS one is helpful because it doesn’t just go over Anatomy and physiology but it goes over bio and chem as well, whereas the Kaplan one only goes over your A&P stuff. I’ve heard that the newest Kaplan prep book is more helpful than the older versions though, but overall I think you will be just fine with just the TEAS book. I don’t know if you have taken the TEAS or not but I’ve taken the TEAS, Kaplan, and HESI and the TEAS and Kaplan are VERY similar.
  5. Just got my email! I’m an alternate for Tucson!
  6. I’m still waiting! Did you get in?
  7. I may be starting the Tucson program in January. Do you know if it’s 90% online because of COVID-19 or is that how it is going to be? I’ve been debating if I should get my bachelors degree in something else first because I only have a few semesters left or just start this program in January like I was planning. But hearing this kind of makes me want to wait so the program has some time to get the kinks out.
  8. Oh that is good to know!! I think in the past they usually have sent emails out in chunks by which campus so they probably did Yuma first!
  9. Ugh yeah hopefully it is sooner!! I don’t want to wait until November haha
  10. I’ve been checking my email every 5 minutes since yesterday ?
  11. I feel like I saw somewhere that there is nau affiliated housing but now I can’t find anything on it haha. I’ll keep looking for it
  12. Okay honestly this version of the Kaplan is dumb. The science isn’t just anatomy and physiology like everyone says. It is still mostly that so still study your body systems! I used a TEAS test prep for the science and also had my friend who is super good at science review with me and that helped a ton. Also study Basic BIO 181 topics like prokaryotes vs eukaryotes, the species and class system thing... I can’t remember the actual name of it, and other basic Bio 181 stuff! Honestly I didn’t study for the other parts but I’ve heard an ACT/SAT prep helps a lot. Also take some practice tests and watch Youtube videos like crash course!
  13. That’s coming so soon! I applied to Tucson and Flagstaff and Tucson I out as my first choice just because I know it is slightly less competitive. Yikes, I can’t believe people forgot to take the Casper! I would be so stressed! I bet that does eliminate some competition.
  14. I am applying as well! I have a 3.7 GPA and got a 78% overall with a 75% in science. Honestly I’m not expecting to get in because I did so bad in the Kaplan haha. Do you know when we find out? I know the Casper results take two weeks to send to the schools so hopefully that doesn’t delay things.
  15. Hey everyone! I just wanted to create this to see if there is anyone else applying to the traditional BSN program at NAU for Spring 2021! What program are you applying to? What’s your GPA? Also, if anyone has taken the Kaplan already and has tips for studying that would be great.
