Updated:   Published

Hey everyone! Has anyone heard of Grand Canyon University's accelerated BSN program? It just launched this year, and was wondering if anyone is applying to it? ABSN - two locations: Sun City and Tuscon.

Yes ! My son is set to start Spring 2021 Tucson location .   Best wishes to you all.

I’m happy I found out about this program , as waiting to get in the nursing program through the local community college is so frustrating and discouraging

Is there anyone starting Spring 2021 at the Phoenix location? Maybe we can all join a groupchat!

I have been waiting to hear from this school as I am literally looking into ALL programs I can find in the U.S.. Is this school as competitive to apply as say, Azusa Pacifica? I am in San Diego and just looking at all my options.

The traditional nursing program is very competitive! But the post-bachelors is different because as long as you meet the requirements & checklist, you can be conditionally accepted.

3.0 overall GPA

3.25 prereq GPA

HESI: 70 or 80 A & P, with 80 for math, reading, grammar, etc. So as long as your average is over 85, you’re good!

In the traditional nursing program, you would need a 90+ average HESI, and a 3.76+ prereq GPA to be considered “competitive”; however, the post bachelors program is different because it’s “self-directed”, which means the curriculum/foundation of nursing is self-taught, & the clinicals, lab, simulations are on the campus. It depends on what you’re wanting in a nursing program!

I am choosing GCU because I am graduating with my first degree from them. I wanted to stick with GCU due to being regionally accredited, somewhat affordable in comparison to others, & non-profit.

you will need to have 60 college credit. the 16months program with taking the BSN nursing core classes.,  the tuition is 53,000.  If you have not received a call back I would recom to contact them again if this is something that you are interested in.

the program is 4 semester long.

I will be calling when I get out of work Monday morning. I believe the only two classes I am short of are micro and the religious class. I am set to take micro in Jan and be done with it by mid Feb. I will have to take any religious classes through them but I am prepared to for any prerequisite requirement.

It’s different from the Phoenix location and Tucson location. The Tucson location requires 60 credits but the Phoenix location requires a non-nursing bachelors degree.

Hi! I plan on starting Spring 2021 at the Phoenix location also! It's been difficult trying to find a facebook group for our cohort. Do you happen to be looking for roommates?

No I’m not looking for roommates. We can create our own facebook group and let others join if you want!
