Grand Canyon RN-BSN

Published

Is there any updated information? I have been in heavy contact with them and am looking at taking their RN-BSN program. I work with a GCU grad and she has nothing but positive things to say, but I want more opinions. ?

Any pro's and cons? Thankfully the only class I'm missing is stats and that is offered in the actual BSN program. I'm a bit nervous as my algebra skills are way old. If anyone took this class, do you have any advice?

Thank you.. I want to experience personal growth. I have so many nay-sayers around me. As I said. I am on board. I want to do this. I am moving forward. I understand what you are saying Prism.. I am on your team if you will have me.. I want to make this happen for more reasons than I can express. Decision Made. If no support elsewhere, I will get it here!!

I am sorry if I have been negative.. seriously.. are you going to ban me?

I wanted to share what many say to me.. which is hard to swallow....

I will not longer do so.. they are shallow and in different situations...

I think the crux of this is that I wanted to know if others get negative responses.. if so we need to applaud our advancement in education.

LOL, no, no banning, so far the only people that have been voted off the island are those that can whip out an A paper in 2 hours! And this ain't MY team, this is tokmom's team, and I thank her every day for starting this thread "back in the day". Who knew little ol' AN would literally change the trajectory of my life? I know I sound like a cheerleader and coming dangerously close to inviting everyone on the planet to drink the Kool-Aid, but this was a good decision for me, and all I am saying is that people need to make up their own minds. Not only do you get the nay-sayers when you're contemplating jumping into the abyss, but they continue throughout -- example: "I don't know why you're torturing yourself like this" (as I sit and fret over my paper all weekend while everyone else is at the zoo or on vacation). My response? "Yeah, you wouldn't. Now leave me alone, NO I can't go shopping with you, I'm busy, and stop trying to make me feel bad about it!"

I don't want to go to the zoo, or shopping.. I find that ridiculous as I did that my entire life with my children. I am happy to study... I think the nay sayers want to be entertained. I am not of that sort. Got it.

Could not create a paper in less than 8 hours if I tried.

I am sorry if you feel stessed

I think school is extremely stressful.. we all love to learn, but..there are those deadlines. I am also worried about signing up with a school that does group projects..

Pink, if you want to do this then you should do it. Let no one stand in you way unless it's family needs, financial hardship or something like that. Many times people are negative because they are jealous or they feel threatened that somebody wants to do something and they will be left out or they want company in feeling like there is no more need for improvement or education. It just all depends on what stage in life you are in and to me it sounds like you really want to do this.

My friend went through this program with me and she is in her late 50's. We both had to ignore, neglect or postpone many personal things but now she and I are both done! Tomorrow is the last day of our Capstone class and she turned her completed project in on Monday night and I turned mine in on Tuesday evening this past week. All I have to do now is wait for my final grade and wait for my BSN diploma in the mail. I enjoyed it, learned a lot, became a better and faster writer and I would do it again with GCU in a heartbeat!

Thank you! Hugs and Congratulations!

Is there anyone wanting to start this Fall? Buddies?
