1) Why would you lie about your graduation date?
2) Of course "they" will find out because whoever offers you employment will expect you to have received your degree or certification by a certain date, and will of course ask you or contact the institution where you should have graduated from by the date you stated on your resume.
Not telling the truth on your resume, especially for something like your graduation date isn't a good idea, because 99.8% of the time, the truth comes out and when it is found that you lied, wherever you are working will probably fire you anyway.
Of course if it was a legitimate error, and you weren't trying to lie, then you should contact the place you sent your resume and explain the error...

Don't lie! Think about this; You can be the best nurse in the world, someone else makes a mistake, in the investigation they check people's credentials, your lie is discovered, they can take action against your license, if they don't just fire you.
It's just not worth it.

Are you talking about say a person that graduated May 2009 and passed the NCLEX say May 2010 (for whatever reason) then listing May 2010 on their resume as their graduation date in an effort to not have to explain the time lapse or think you maybe lost skills?
One lie usually leads to 5 more, I wouldn't do it.

You don't remember when you graduated? You don't need the exact date, a month and year will suffice. Can you contact your school and former employers and verify the information?

I don't remember the exact dates of my various graduations ... so I just put the months and years. But I would never consciously lie.

I couldn't tell you the date of my graduations, not even the month. I put "Spring 2010" and have never had a problem. Even just the year would suffice I think.

Don't you have your degree/diploma/whatever from when you graduated? The date is on that. Or you can contact the school and ask them (they have your records). Month/year is sufficient.
Don't lie on a resumé, or even make something up because you honestly don't remember -- there's a good chance you'll get found out, and many employers consider false info on an application or resumé sufficient reason to disqualify you from consideration (or fire you, if you've already been hired when you're found out).
Thanks pers. :)

I'm going to just add another vote for Month-Year. I've never had a problem with that, and with all the jobs ands classes I've taken, some for 6 weeks or so, it would take forever to find the exact dates.
