Graduation Cap Decorations

Anyone else thinking about decorating the top of their graduation cap for graduation if your school allows you to? I heard some people talking about it and then I looked on pinterest. There are some awesome ideas out there and I am excited. I just ordered some scrapbooking stickers and rhinestones to put on my cap for graduation.

Here's an example of what I am talking about: http://www.pinterest.com/pin/207658232790535805/

I am not going to put "call me nurse X" because I am not a nurse though. I think I may put down "nursing" and 2013 along with the scrapbooking stickers that I bought. Plus if I have an official job offer before then, I will put down the department too. I plan on doing an outline in pink stones or maybe I'll scatter them throughout to add some contrast.

IMO it is ok to put nurse jenny or just the word nurse on it. You just aren't registered so I wouldn't put RN but nurse is ok in my opinion.

Specializes in ER.

I am putting down nursing because I'm in the school of nursing and 2013. I think adn or BSN is a good alternative since that is what people are even if they do not have the RN in their title yet. I hate trying to remember the signatures. I think legally in my state I can put paramedic because I think they change it from emt-p.

Actually....you need to be VERY careful....many states have passed laws that make it illegal to use the term nurse unless you are licensed.

Title "Nurse" Protection

Background

Restricting use of the title "nurse" to only those individuals who have fulfilled the requirements for licensure as outlined in each state's nurse practice act is a protection for the public against unethical, unscrupulous, and incompetent practitioners.

Nurse practice acts describe entry level qualifications such as education, practice standards and code of conduct for continued privilege to practice nursing. Limiting use of the title "nurse" to only those who have satisfied the licensure requirements ensures the protection the public deserves.

You can only use paramedic if you are one.
