Hello,
I am a senior and I will be graduating this coming May. I just made my schedule for my final semester and I am very excited. I am minoring in Biology. It was brought to my attention that I only need two more credits in order to have a fine arts minor as well. I already have the credits needed to graduate so taking this art class would be extra. My question is, should I pursue this art minor in addition to already have a biology minor? Will having this additional art minor benefit me with my nursing career? Thank you!

No, I don't think it will benefit you. Honestly, I don't think the minor in biology is going to help either, unless you want to do forensics or something. The biggest factors are your major (BSN/ADN), where you have done your clinicals and who you know in healthcare.
I graduated with a minor in psychology and no hopsitals really cared about it when I was applying for jobs.
Thanks for the advice! That saves me so much more precious study time :)

I agree that a minor rarely, if ever, helps a new grad in her nursing career.
But ... I would consider finishing the minor "at some point" if I were you. Maybe not right now, but some time in the near future. It might be emotionally healthy to have a creative outlet. And you never know: it might lead to some interesting possibilities some day -- and having an official credential in another field might open up some options later in your life.
My local med school offers a Master's Degree in art therapy, for example. Or you might just want a job in the art field someday.
