Not that. I did search for it, their was A LOT that came back. I am simply asking someone who was/is in the same situation as i am and hey, maybe, just maybe, someone has an answer. Doesn't hurt, right? Don't have to answer me in woth "there's this thing called the internet" Doesn't mean i asked here i am not doing anything about it. Ya know?
Just in case you haven't started with your NCLEX-RN application.
I graduated BSN in the Philippines (2012). I was in the same confusion as you are when I was starting to apply for my NCLEX-RN. I didn't know where to start either. So to maybe give you some help, here's what I did: I applied for my NCLEX-RN, went to their website, downloaded their form, choose to apply by mail rather than online, it's much easier with our complicated status as an international graduate. Fill up the form and send it to the board. But before I sent my application form to the Board there are some forms that the board needs directly from your school, one of them is the "Request for Transcript" and if I remember theres this "Breakdown of Nursing Program form" you need to send those forms to your school and ask them to mail it directly to the Board of Nursing in California. So I sent these requests to my school 1-2 weeks ahead of time before I sent the application to the Board. So processing times won't be wasted. Also, The way I did it is, whoever I was asking to help me process my papers in the Philippines, along with my Request for Transcripts and Educational breakdown, I attached a letter saying specific instructions on what to do with my forms, For example: Please kindly mail the forms to the BON in Ca on this address (Provide the board's address) after processing. All fees needed will be provided. That's what I did so that they are aware of the needed process. Then you just have to wait for a response. The way they responded to me is that they needed more requirements (SSN, CA id, and my OR-DR Cases). I processed these things again and sent it to the board. Then they responded with the Denial letter that I cannot take the NCLEX-RN until I finish the Classes they needed me to take. It will say on the letter that you have to finish those classes within 3 years or they will abandon your application.
Since I already know that I will get denied due to the concurrency issues, rather than just waiting for my results with my application for RN, I applied for the NCLEX-PN at the same time I applied for my RN as to not waste any efforts. Now I am working as an LVN in California and I am now working towards getting into a school that will let you take independent classes, this is the challenge now because not many schools on the list that the Board provides with the denial letter will allow you to only take those classes that the board requires. Unless you live somewhere near San Francisco, good for you. If not, most of the schools will ask you to take the whole nursing program again. This is why I also applied for the LVN to have a back up plan if in case I get denied, which I did, that maybe being licensed as an LVN will help lessen the load of units when I go back to school cause you can have your transcript re-evaluated. I am on allnurses.com right now to see how I can work on getting into a school so I can take my NCLEX-RN, I only have 2 years before my application gets abandoned and restart the whole application process again:cry:, I came across your post and I just felt the need to give some help cause I feel your struggle. :)
