GPC graduates!!!

U.S.A. Georgia

Hi I am new to the scene and I will be graduating GPC in May 2009.....just wondering if there are any GPC grads out there and was it difficult to find a job after school?

Thanks!!!:nuke:

congrats :) In the 4th semester, the content is basically pulling everything together. It is mostly about multi system issues. Big time disease content. It will cover things like congestive heart failure and how it affects the whole body (that is what I mean by multi system issues). I got a book from Amazon called "Medical Surgical Nursing Recall"- I think that is the title the author is Tamara Bickston. The book does a great simple breakdown of diseases and system issues. I would highly rec it.

Congrats to all that made it through the 3rd semester and my prayers for those who unfortunately did not. I am available if anyone needs to chat. I went through the failing part last year and know the heartache and back-stepping it has caused me, but I must say that GPC is definitely on the right track for making the changes that need to be made. You can really see them all trying more than ever, not that they weren't trying before, but now, this year, it has been a true blessing to go to school here this past semester and I hope that people realize that just how people can change that schools can do the same.

Sorry to hear you had to go through that. That is my fear about going to schools that handle their pass rate like this. I was wondering though, that if one is unsuccessful during a semester, do you have to reapply to the school, or are you accepted but just have to wait until that class comes around again??

Thanks

Did GPC move the entire nursing program to Clarkston or can you still attend at the L-ville campus?

At GPC....you have to submit a readmit application, if accepted then you can attend the class that you were unsuccessful in the next time it is offered, and just go from there, but you only get two chances, if you fail a second time, there is no chance of being readmitted.

Classes are still offered at the L'ville campus until I think 2011. But the majority of the students attend the Clarkston campus. That campus is considered the main nursing campus.

As gapeachrn2b stated, you do have to submit a "readmit" form but don't even think about that right now because that will put you in a bad mood from the start. I am not sure what you mean by "...handle their pass rate like this..." but I know that it was part school and mostly me that caused my not passing last year. Things have changed tremendously on the school's part as well as my own and so I have been successful this semester. I pray for you to not think negative going in. Be positive, know that you can do this, and if you want it bad enough, it will happen. Good luck to you.

Hey, i'm in your class. I'm graduating from GPC in May of 2009 as well.

I know. I just figured that out after reading your post. We are also in the same network of people on facebook too. Can't wait for next semester to be up and out of the way.

I can't wait to be finished too, we go, go, go...then all of a sudden 5 weeks break before the final semester...how cruel is that?

Hey guys! I will be graduating in May 09 too! You are right, 5 weeks off was too long...but now its full speed ahead to graduation.
