Help, I'm totally stressing out. I'm getting straight As in all my prereq courses except chemistry. I have worked really hard. I have been meeting with a study group and going to tutoring but I think I might end up with a B or maybe even a C. I have a bachelors degree already with a 3.0. I want to get into an accelerated bachelors degree program. Is it really possible to get into nursing school with a lower grade in chemistry? I spend about 20 hours a week on this class. Thank goodness the class is almost over. My other classes are a breeze in comparision.

Hello,
You cannot expect to always get A's....some do, some do not

I wouldn't stress it, it sounds like you are doing well in all your other classes, doing the best you can is all you can do.

A B isnt the end of the world. Do the best that you can do and get letters of recommendation and write an amazing essay and it will help your chances. Not all schools look solely on gpa. Many factor in other things as well. And if all else fails you can do what I did, retake classes you made B's in to make As until you get accepted into school. It takes longer, but if being a nurse is what your goal is, you wont let somthing like an extra semester of prereqs get in your way. Good luck!

I would not worry about it too much. I got a B in microbiology and I still got into a top notch program.
Chemistry is hard especially if you have a sucky lab partner. My lab partner is actually dragging my chem grade down. Last week she spilled chemicals on me and this week she used the wrong chemical. Nonetheless, I have no results for my lab this week.
Anyhow, a B in chemistry is fine especially since you are doing so well in your other classes. Not all schools look at grades only.
good luck!

I just got accepted to an ADN program with a B in Chemistry, I was worried the entire time of not getting in because of it. Keep kicking butt in the other classes and you will be alright

While we should strive to do well, this standard of GPA perfection just isn't healthy.
Ok, I know. Back to the real world of too many applicants for too few seats and crazy competition.
Good luck Bonnie. Keep at it. I was sure I would not get an A in chem. Then I got my A.
Could you call the chem department at a university and ask if any grad students are available for private tutoring work? Maybe a better tutor could help everything 'click'.
