I have a 2.9 gpa based on 73 credits. Where can i go to nursing school that is decent in price and where i can actually get in. I was thinking anywhere in the following states, cali, arizona, or anywhere on the east coast.

You're going to have to target schools based on their admissions process. I've read posts on here from people whose schools have a minimum requirement and then it's a lottery for all those qualified, so a 2.5 or 4.0 give you the same chance of acceptance. You're going to have difficulty getting into schools in highly populated areas that rank applicants based on qualifications with a 2.9 GPA. There are also some schools that accept all qualified students but put you on a waiting list- some with a couple years wait. You'll need to search out schools that fit your criteria, but with flexibility you can probably find something.

Where can i find out these schools?

Coppin State University in Baltimore Maryland. They said as long as you qualify you get in. Minimum 2.5 GPA and you have to take the NET. This year is the last year for it then they are switching to a different test. Good luck in searching for a good school. And the price isn't too bad...i don't think.

Check out community colleges in the states that you are targeting. Often times, they have 2.0 or 2.5 requirements and are either a lottery or are just a regular list and when your name comes up, it comes up. You can always do a bridge program later to get your BSN. From what I've seen BSN programs are very, very competitive, so with that GPA, you may find that you can't get into any of them in your target areas.

A community college in California. They use a lotto system and only require a 2.5 its not super cheap until you establish residency which I think it is a year.

Dalton State College in Georgia

Most technical colleges allow a low GPA. Although you have to get a C or better in all the classes in order to stay in the program. The cost is around $99 per credit. As others have said, you can always bridge after you get an associate degree.

Also, I don't know about other technical schools, but mine gives you two chances to pass the entrance test. (If you fail the first time, you have to wait 6 months before taking it the second time.)
