What was your gpa when you applied for nursing schools?

hello everyone I'm new to the forum, but it's nice to hear I'm not the only one going crazy waiting for acceptance to san jac nursing I applied for fall 2010 my gpa cummulative was 3.85 but applied with 4.0 on pre reqs has anyone heard if they are sending letters that they have received our app I went twice to the enrollment office to make sure they had everything.

@megirl: Do you applying for a accelerated program or just a regular bachelors?

Specializes in none as of to date.

my pre req.'s= 4.0

my overall gpa( career) is 3.96

hope this helps..I know of people getting in with a lot lower (2.9), but they were also LPN's to boot, so that helped them

@dream and achieve= thank you so much for you reply. your hard work must of paid off! if you dont mind me asking, are you in a accelerated program or a regular ADN or BSN program?

Specializes in Emergency/Cath Lab.

applied at 2.54.....now 3.15

Overall: 2.98 (UT Austin & Community College)

Pre-req's: 3.46 (non-science)

Science: 3.63

All classes finsished, no previous health career, first-time applying ever to only 1 university (UTHSC-SA) BSN program.

****I GOT ACCEPTED****** : )

Im applying to the LPN program and so far I have a 4.0 but I have not finished A&P 2 yet and doubt I can hold on to this. I am so sick of the straight A game. I have been having nightmares the past week about this. Last week I dreamt that I got a C- on my first A&P 2 exam, last night I had a dream that I got a 4.0 and was still not accepted into the program! I really am screwed if I dont get in this year.

thanks for your reply, I'm applying for the 2 year program at san jac central

got 4.0 on all my science and 3.85 over all but I don't know what I'm going to do if I don't get in the fall 2010 I have all my pre reqs the only one I need is intro to psych everything else is done with.

Did any of you apply at san jac and received a letter that they received the application?

my pre req.'s= 4.0

my overall gpa( career) is 3.96

hope this helps..I know of people getting in with a lot lower (2.9), but they were also LPN's to boot, so that helped them

I know I heard about people getting with that 2.9 but I guess will have to wait and see I wish someone that got in the program would post something about the gpa they got in with

Hopefull:uhoh3:

I'm going for the accelerated program at san jac. I spoke to the councelor she told me I had nothing to worry about. But I'm still worried wish this month was over with. It would be very sad if I didn't get in with my gpa

I wonder how many students they have room for this fall??

Did you apply for the program yourself?

3.91 for prereq's and bonus courses, but overall 3.7. I have 2 previous degrees, which gave me bonus points. LPA/CNA work doesn't give us bonus points or any credit whatsoever. I think their theory is to train us how they want us, vs. undoing training from other programs. West coast schools are so competitive because of overpopulation (& smart women!). I was told having a B in any prerequisite or course on my application would not be good. I had 1 and still got in, but the fact that I had a master's degree made up for it in points. So yeah, basically people need a 4.0 or previous degrees and all bonus points offered. (extra classes, taking classes at their school exclusively, being a county resident, finished every single course possible for the degree, not just prerequisites).

Got in on 1st try. Very relieved, it still doesn't seem real. Good luck everyone & congrats - also don't give up anyone else - we are all getting in by the skin of our teeth.
