i am pretty sure this post has been created before,
does anyone know the link to this kind of post
or
What was your gpa when you applied for nursing schools?
pre reqs wise and overall.
Thank you
Thank you everyone for replying back!
I am 19 years old and i doing my pre reqs at a CC in the bay area. My school is a quarter system so there is anatomy and physiology for 3 quarters, 40 A-B-C. My non sci pre reqs (psychology, speech etc) i have a 3.8. I have not done microbio or my chemistry series yet, just my GE and anatomy and physiology classes. For 40 A-B and i have a letter grade of a B, i am suppose to have B+ ( For 40 A-B I was 5 points away from a letter grade of a A) but my school does not allow or (-) or (+).
I am just looking around people's GPA and what kind of program they are in/ or aiming for? I would like to go to a BSN program.
Again thank you everyone for replying back and best of luck on your nursing journey.
I am a pre-nursing student in the 19-21 age group.
I am curious as to wonder...all these people who applied with gpa with 4.0. Did you guys come from a community college?
To me, it's a bit discouraging because I am a pre-nursing student who goes to a UC and it's quite difficult to get all straight A's in the pre-reqs and overall. This is why I am going to community college after graduation so that I can boost my gpa to make myself more competitive. I am trying to get into an ABSN program in CA.
Any insight?
Overall: 3.6 (before my spring grades, now it's a 3.55)
Pre-reqs: 3.7
However my school only focuses on the overall so the 3.6 is what got counted. I get accepted before my spring grades were in.
Also, to the person above, just because people have 4.0's don't mean they went to CCs and even if they did that doesn't mean that community colleges have easier course work. I had a 4.0 semester once taking Statistics, Anatomy, Micro and Develop Psych and I go to a 4 year university, so it is possible. Some colleges do have courses that are difficult than others but it also has a lot to do with the person, the professor and just the information they can get from the class. I did so well because I had the four best professors in each of those classes.

Well first of all don't get discouraged, but yes I have a 4.0 and go to community college, but that doesn't mean it's easy. And I'm also applying at cc. for the accelerated program. considering I'm 36 have two children and work full time. And trust me it really is not much of a difference I went to university when I first graduated in 92 and its about the same but bigger classes, and like somebody said it depends on the person and their style of learning. It wasn't easy getting A's in anatomy.

I will be starting an accelerated diploma program in August. I had a 3.62 when I applied and ended with a cumulative 3.70.
