I got accepted to the program with 20 points, as did my friend. Nobody else we know has been accepted, although I heard that some students were accepted with 18 points.
In two semesters, Goodwin is switching from the NLN to the TEAS. No big deal, just be sure to study for the right exam. Make sure you have 7 classes (7 points), keep a GPA of at least 3.5 (3 points) and KILL it on the NLN/TEAS, whichever it is when you take it.
The coursework is much more extensive than it is at community colleges, but Goodwin is pricey, and you definitely get what you pay for. The materials and the professors are excellent, but if you want to know the information, you could learn it anywhere. The Goodwin professors are there to actually help you.

I am very happy to hear that yu have been accepted to the program with 20 points. I just took the NLN today and all in total have 20 point so to hear that only in May they have taken students with 20 points gives me hope. The wait will kill me however your post will makes me hopeful. Thank you

how do you like it so far in the nursing program? I read so many mix reviews....
did you get in for Jan 2017? Good luck to you!
I love the program! We're still on break, but I'm going nuts without the workload. You get so used to all the studying, class work, and clinicals that it seems abnormal to have free time.
This is my second semester in the program and I have not one regret about having come to Goodwin.
What sort of mixed reviews have you heard, and are they current? The nursing department is always trying to improve, so they really take our feedback to heart.
I'm glad it's working out for you! I just took the TEAS today and let's see how it goes. Chelsea said the admitted score maybe low since the average score for TEAS is between 60-70. Crossing fingers and are you taking any other classes besides clinicals and the nursing lecture?
Awesome! Keep your fingers crossed. I'm only taking the nursing classes now. I maxed out on credits while taking my prereqs, so all my BSN requirements are fulfilled. Now I just need to finish the core classes.
Try to take as many of your BSN classes as you can before you start the program, because financial aid won't pay for them while you're in the ADN portion of the program.
Yes that's exactly what I have done, I already have my BA from saint joseph. I took all the BSN electives so once I'm in the program I just have to take my core classes. Just a waiting game now, and if I don't get in I have all semester to study and prepare myself for the TEAs all over again
Waiting is the worst. I think it was about 6 weeks until my cohort got our acceptance packets. I was terrified because I went to the mailbox and I had a skinny letter from Goodwin. I ripped into it while walking up my driveway, and almost passed out when it was letter about making the dean's list.
Really?! Like I give a sh!t about that? It was a long next couple of days, but then I got a big, fat envelope. That's the one you need!
Good luck! I'm sure you're gonna get in, and when you do, be proud of yourself! They only accept about 20% of applicants.
Yeah I know what you mean about the thin envelop, thinking that's the denial letter?!? So when you get accepted there's a thick package ?? So if I see a thin envelop I already know it's a denial letter then right? I have crazy anxiety and it's a long time to wait till I hear anything. I'll keep crossing my fingers! Thanks for the response and encouragement
Try not to freak out (I know, easier said than done)!!
If there's a skinny envelope, it could be a dean's list announcement, more likely a bill.
Yes I got the deans list already, I just have to wait, and it's driving me nuts. I might just go get my cpr certification since I have a semester off. Thanks for commenting! Have a good semester
