Goodwin College Nursing Program Spring 2020

Hello future nurse students! I decided to start a thread since no one had made one yet and it’s a little early but that’s okay! I'm curious to see how the application pool is for this semester. Feel free to leave any questions, comments, and/or your impaction score.

I applies for this Fall 19 with 16 points 7 classes and a cumulative gpa of 3.46 and the cut off was 16 points 7 classes and a cumulative gpa of 3.50.

Now I already reapplied for Spring. After this semester is over I’m going in with 18 points with a Teas score of 85.3.

I actually was wondering you know were it says previous degrees on are point system paper. Once we reach 60 credits if some credits received previous and the rest at Goodwin once it equals 60 credits would we get the points for that section or is it really all 60 have to be received previous? Becuase it says associates OR 60 credits.

I joined all the facebook pages and there is so many files to review but grammar and puncuation is not my strong point!

A lot of people say she is good and help them. Also there is another lady I used but I can no longer find her on YouTube she was awesome I can’t remember her name if I find it I will link her videos.

You can use your transfer credits towards the 60 credits and what the credits you made a Goodwin. I had 9 credits transferred and the rest of the credits from Goodwin to get my 60 credits. It can either be 60 credits or associate degree. I hope this helps.

I watched her but I felt like she was only helpful for the reading part not grammar like when to use commas, apostrophes, etc. I have elizabeth tran files from the Facebook pageswhich are pages long but I can read them and memorize them but if I dont practice I'm screwed lol

And about the credits I ask because a friend transferred in like 30 credits in from a previous school and after this semester has accumulated 30 more from her time at Goodwin and her advisor said she would receive the 2 points for that tier of having 60 credits. But I thought all 60 had to be acquired previous to becoming a Goodwin student to receive points for that section?

I understand I felt as thou she didn’t help me as much. If I can find the other lady that helped me I will let you know.

As as far as the credits yes your friend advisor is correct she receives the 2 points. You do not have to acquire 60 previous credits from another school to receive the 2 points. As long as you just have 60 credits regardless of transfer or accumulating it from GW you get the 2 points.

I asked my advisor a similar question and this was her response.

Hi Ashlee,

Transfer credit will go towards your total number of credits. So when they are awarding points for whether you have an Associate Degree or 60 credits, you will have 62 credits. Transfer credit does not impact your Goodwin GPA. If you have any other questions, please let me know.

I only had 9 transfer credits and the other 53 credits are from GW. I hope this helps.

Hi! Thanks for opening the thread!. I too applied for the spring 2020. This time I applied with 18 points and TEAS score of 83.3% Crossing my fingers I get in bc I’m over taking the TEAS I swear! Last semester I applied with 16 points but I didn’t make the cut off ? For those of you thinking of giving up.. Don’t! We can do this! Now let’s wait for those letters!! ?

No problem, 18 points most likely your in for this semester. I was in the same boat as you last semester I missed it by 6 people. So close, I was upset but I told myself to keep pushing. So I definitely agree with you, this is what we want so we need to fight for it and keep pushing.

I’m trying not to look at the calendar every day.... So I’m in count down mood lol I’m nervous and excited at the same time. ????
