Goodwin College Nursing Program Spring 2020

U.S.A. Connecticut

Published

Hello future nurse students! I decided to start a thread since no one had made one yet and it’s a little early but that’s okay! I'm curious to see how the application pool is for this semester. Feel free to leave any questions, comments, and/or your impaction score.

I applies for this Fall 19 with 16 points 7 classes and a cumulative gpa of 3.46 and the cut off was 16 points 7 classes and a cumulative gpa of 3.50.

Now I already reapplied for Spring. After this semester is over I’m going in with 18 points with a Teas score of 85.3.

Hi, i will be applying for spring 2020 semester. I am in my first semester right now at Goodwin but i have credits transferred over. What did you use to study for the TEAS?

Okay, awesome. I used quite a few books the yellow book, ATI A& B Test felt like none of those really worked I also used and Brandon Craft off of Facebook for math he helped out. My score went up a little bit but no where were I needed. So I got a tutor used her for 2.5 weeks and I scored way higher only thing is that it was really expensive. If I had a little more time for Fall to submit my teas I would of took it one more time if I could.

Hi, I will be applying for Spring 2020 also. I am going Monday to hand in my application. I see you already took the Teas previously. So I made a log on the ati website and I just snooped around since it says we can not register for it until July 22nd on the app but I saw there were available times already when you put the options in so why do you have to wait to register?? Also I had no idea the test was $112. I want a later date since I am currently in school and they only had one date in September to take it before the deadline day. Do more times open up when you wait until registration week it states on the Goodwin app? Thanks if someone can help!?

Oh I’m sorry just now seeing your comment. Yes it is expensive. But I did take it a Naugatuck Valley community college I was a student once there and still had my student ID so I got the discount and paid only $80. Last semester I registered way before the due date for Hamden registration. More times will open up durning the registration week for Hamden. Other places will open when they have dates available. You do not have to take it just in Hamden thou. I took one at Hamden and one in Waterbury at NVCC. So it’s up to you. At Hamden you only have to pay a $5 fee to transfer your Teas test but other places you pay $27 to transfer so it’s up to you. I hope this helps.

Hi Ashlee,

I applied and I scheduled my Teas for Sept 21 so I have time to study between the end of the semester until the test. How long did you study for?

I just hope I get in the first time it is so discouraging but I'm applying with a 3.78 gpa and I have the 7 classes at Goodwin and hopefully I can do well on the Teas!!!

Hello Sharon,

Awesome gpa keep it up. You at 10 points right now that’s if you don’t have 60 credits or a degree. So if you get between 79.8-84 you will have 16-17 points and that’s great. Last semester cumulative gpa 3.50 and 16 points. So if you hit that target rang you will have a great chance. You’ll will do great on the Teas! I study off and on from Jan -May while finishing up classes. As long as you have a month to study you will be fine. I did take it twice once in March (spring) then May (summer semester). Keep us posted and just show up a little early for the Teas. Good luck! ?

Thanks! I'm nervous to take the test I know Its a while away but I'll post my update after my teas!!!

You’re most welcome and great. Also if you haven’t join yet on Facebook there is a few group ATI Teas 6 Test it’s a study guide group. They have great questions that helps with studying. Check them out if you haven’t already.

If you don’t mind me asking, where did you find a tutor to help with the teas? I’m seriously willing to do whatever i can to bring up my score!

Hello Fpeterson88,

I used the app Wyzant and looked up Teas make sure you find a tutor that does online or that will travel to you. Please read all of the reviews and find someone that has been tutoring for the Teas for a few years not the ones that just took it and received a high grade because even thou they received a high grade doesn’t mean they can teach. Just my opinion. Good luck let me know if I can help you with anything else.

Did you by chance use the tutor Emily from wyzant?
