some of the girls at work have those, they are expensive, but they swear they wouldn't wear anything else...I like crocs, they are $30/pair, and easy to clean (always get dark colors); used to wear birkenstocks, but couldn't keep them white (they always want to turn yellow), some folks clean their plastic shoes with greased lightening (kitchen cleaning product).
it all depends on your feet. I remember when they only had Nursemates, and they were just too darned narrow for my fred flintstone feet! I remember paying $40 in nursing school for shoes that hurt my feet

Some people rave about them, others swear they feel like blocks are strapped to their feet. I'd go to a Dansko retailer and try a pair on, walk around the store in them and see what you think.

Actually its hard to tell just by trying a pair on in the store. Its is one of those million dollar questions. You know - what is the perfect pair of shoes. Everyone is going to give you a different answer, and they are going to swear by this shoe and that shoe. Just search this board you will come up with more posts on the subject than you will care to read. For example a search using Dansko brings up 6 pages of posts.
Personally it takes alot of trial and error to find whats right for you. What feels good in the store may after a 12 hr shift kill your feet, back, legs ect ect.
The key is to know that a specifc type of shoe has a life span for example walking shoes are good for only so many miles- about 4-6 months at 40 hrs a week, as such they need to be replaced frequently. I look at it as a cost of doing business.

LOVE THEM! I wear them at work and for play whenever I can. They are not soft cushy clogs they give great support. My feet NEVER ache. They are expensive..about $110 but well worth it.

I had never worked a 12 hour shift in my life until last summer. I was told by several nurses to buy New Balance shoes, and honestly my feet have never hurt one single time.

Zappos.com carries some Danskos and also offers free shipping and free return shipping. You could order a pair, wear them around the house to see how they feel, and send them back if you don't like them. I've bought shoes from them before and have never had any problems with returns.

I like Dansko's but find that my toes hurt towards the end of the shift. I don't get that achy, tired feeling though. I have a pair of the sling back clogs. I just bought a pair of Croc's, haven't tried them out yet. Also like New Balnce for comfort and Free Spirits.
