Good pop up: GOD > nclex

Published

I'm a lurker for months before this post, and I've been reading study tips and been inspired by other people's nclex experience. So I promised myself that I'd also do the same after I take mine.

So I just took the Nclex this morning, had 75 questions with 12 SATA, and lots of prioritization and delegation. I just like to share my experience because I believe that I owe allnurses a lot and this is my time to give back.

My resources:

Saunders:

I studied this for 3 months. I know its thick, thick, thick and sometimes serves as a sedative, but this is a really good source for content. Read it from cover to cover and answer every chapter exercises. It helps.

Lacharity Prioritization and Delegation

This is the most important!!! The questions here were 3x harder than NCLEX itself, which makes me really prepared for it. I highly recommend this because I haven't read a post here that took nclex and hadn't encounter a question about prioritization and delegation. This book is a really BIG help!!!

I purchased Lacharity 2 weeks before my exam date, and I obviously got a very LOW scores. It's so frustrating and depressing knowing that I only got 2 weeks and I still get 40% scores. I was really hurt, it makes me feel that i haven't read and learned anything since day 1. Cried for a night, and went back and read rationales making sure I really understand the message inside the message.

But most of all, don't ever forget to PRAY!!! This the key! God is watching you always, and just waiting for you to call Him. Don't hesitate, this is the right time! You are nothing without God. He puts you in this kind of situation because He wants you to get closer to Him. Talk to Him, tell him about your frustrations, needs, wants, dreams. I swear He'll be happy. Trust God and have faith. God loves you! Go to the testing center with confidence knowing that He is with you. It works =)

I said a prayer before I start the exam, prayed again on no. 2 (SATA ;o), prayed on no. 17, 25, 35, 48, 60, 68, 70, 71, 72, 73, 74, 75!! And then the blue screen appeared. Then prayed again. *During this time, I know results are not out yet, but I'm positively confident =)*

I went home, did the PVT and I got a good pop up =)

Still waiting for the official results...

Lastly, I encourage lurkers to share your stories after taking your exam. It's your time to shine! I'm once a lurker too and it really helps me when I read others' tips and experiences. It also boosts my confidence. So, come on! Post here and inspire!

Through Christ our Lord.

Just wondering...did you utilize the free Question Trainers found online or did you purchase Kaplan.

Just checked the quick resullts.. I passed. =) I'm so happy. God is really good! Prayer really works!! =D

lilmith - Thank you!!!!

Pixiesmom - Congrats also! I also promised myself to share it to the future nclex takers. Let's be a blessing. I hope we can all feel the happiness and fulfillment brought by passing nclex. I know we can all do it. =) Yes, we can!

nalaa83 - Thank you!!

2Nurture1 - Thank you!! I know you can do it! Claim it!! Just don't forget to pray as you study. And handle your anxiety well during the exam, apply your deep breathing exercises and calm yourself, it helps. Congratulations in advance!!!!!

rdremi - You're welcome. Just stay focused and read every rationale even to the question you got right.

caliotter3 - Thank you =)

LittleFocker3 - I purchased Kaplan. I enrolled also in their live lecture class but regretted it for I was only able to attend 4 classes since im also working at the same time. I also didn't know about Qbank before, so if I heard it before I start my review, Im pretty sure I wouldn't get the Kaplan class and just do self study for exam.
