I just talked with the Florida BON, I was informed by them that as of July 1 2010 Florida will accept Excelsior College just as any other school. That means no more review board.
Just something I thought I would pass on to anyone interested.

I'm happy for ya'll. Considering the hassle we went through in GA I wouldn't wish that ordeal on anyone. The uncertainty placed me a year behind.............in other words I should have been finished.

This is certainly good news for a lot of people.
Then maybe you should consider defecting to FL, TN or SC. Before I had talk to the BON I was getting everything together to apply to SC, this will save me some moving expenses.

Great news! I had to get my license by endorsement (I got my MN license first)
Thanks for sharing! I have some friends that was discouraged by Fl BON attitude towards EC.

I love reading this. No reason Excelsior should have special demands from any state. Congrats to all you FL people.

That's great news! I also just got my Florida license by endorsement (went through NC). It cost me an extra $70 and an extra month, but really no big deal like everyone was making it. However, I was concerned about the future of excelsior students being able to get licensed in florida, since I have friends in the program.

So what will be the change? Will medics and RTs be able to sit for the exam or endorse without any issues?
From what the BON was telling me is that anyone with a nursing degree from Excelsior will be able to sit for the NCLEX for Florida, yes medics. Right now LPNs have to be boarded and everyone else has to endorse into Florida. The BON told me if I wanted to endorse in there would be no problem or I could wait until July 1st and could just test.
