Hey! It might be a little early to start this, given that applications aren't open yet, but I noticed that the multi-criteria points system was updated in September 2022. I thought I remembered being in better shape when I looked at the old points system in past semesters ? so I was curious to hear from anyone else who is planning to apply and see where we all stand.
I haven't taken the TEAS yet, but not including my TEAS score I have 56 points so far, and I'll have a max of 81 depending on my score.
Oceanna Vang said:Yeah, and also checking my personal email just in case. I've been refreshing them every 10-20 min. I also received the last email about the delayed notifications so I know I'm on their email list! LOL I'm hoping I will know for sure by Friday and that I wasn't overlooked.
I totally understand! I was also obsessively checking my email. I hope you hear back from them soon. Definitely email them if you haven't heard back by Friday.
Hi Everyone,
Congrats for everyone who got in already! As I mentioned before I will be a 2nd semester at GWC in the fall so if you have any questions, I can try to answer them.
For those who are waiting, alongs you have not received a rejection letter you are still in the running. People who are on the alternate list should receive a email that you are an alternate, but do not lose any hope. For myself, I applied to GWC in fall 2022 and got rejected entirely and Spring I was actually alternate #3 which I got in for Spring 2023. I have two of my cohorts who did not have an alternate # (which means they were over 20 on the list) who got into Spring 2023 only 1 week prior to our semester starting!
As Kenji mentioned the conditional acceptance is standard jargon. Just make sure you signed the contract that you accepted and send it in to the email for them to keep your spot (if you are worried if they receive it, I usually ask them to confirm receipt) and that all your vaccinations etc are met by the due date. GWC only communicated with your GWC email address so make sure you check your emails daily.
Let me know if you have any questions.

Hi Violet,
Can you share some tips to survive during the 1st semester? Like how do you study for quiz and exam. Will study as a group help? Would you recommend any source on YouTube to help for material in class besides the instructor's ppt?
thank you.
@violet_flower On the email with the acceptance letter regarding the pre-enrollment requirements (physical, background check, titers, etc.), it is stated in caps to DO NOT start all of those until we receive an email in late July for the Fall cohort for more additional information. I feel like if we don't do it now, then there is a high chance of not fixing any mistakes or have little time if we don't take care of all of those early on. Like for example, sometimes scheduling an appt for a physical could take a little as a few days to a few weeks.

This is what mine says:
Hello,
We have received your admission contract.
Most clinical requirements should not be started yet. However, due to the lengthy process for vaccines and titers, you could have titers drawn for MMR, Varicella and Hepatitis B by your physician now. If the results are negative, you should either start the vaccination series over or receive a booster. Positive titers proving immunity to MMR, Varicella and Hepatitis B are mandatory for the program. Lab reports for titers must have been dated within the past 3 years. Equivocal or negative results not acceptable.
Measles, Mumps & Rubella (MMR): Positive IgG antibody titer for all 3 components (lab report required). If your titer is negative, you must repeat the vaccination series or booster and provide a positive titer after completion of the series or booster.
Varicella: Positive IgG antibody titer (lab report required). If your titer is negative, you must repeat the vaccination series or booster and provide a positive titer after completion of the series or booster.
Hepatitis B: Positive IgG antibody titer (lab report required). If your titer is negative, you must repeat the vaccination series or booster and provide a positive titer after completion of the series or booster.
Hepatitis B Vaccine - 3 Doses
HEPLISAV B Vaccine – 2 Doses (This series is recommended)
If you know you haven't received MMR, Varicella or Hep B vaccinations ever then your titers will be negative. You should start the series right away.
Disclaimer: This is not a full list of requirements for the program. Detailed Pre-Enrollment Requirements will be provided to your CCCD email in a separate email byearly-July. It is not recommended to start anything beyond checking for positive titers as mentioned above.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate on reaching out to the Nursing Office.
Thank you,
@Whit Gregory RDCS RVT thanks for the detailed info! I still have to sign my acceptance form that is why I was a bit worried when they mentioned the pre-enrollment reqs to be sent out by late July. Did you print form out to sign the signature portion or you did it electronically?

No prob:)I printed and signed then emailed back
@nurse_Fall23 that's what I just did using acrobat reader and submitted it about an hour ago. I wanted to print it out but don't have a printer. We should be getting a reply from admissions today also regarding those additional requirements information.

Sounds like bit of a filing error due to the sheer chaos that is the admissions office right now. I'm assuming you replied back to the email - I can't state it here or I'll get censured by Allnurses for breaking their policy - and told them as much?
If not, please do so and I strongly recommend you do it on a new email explaining you are trying to finish your CEP acceptance and Contract.
Worst case of worst case, contact the Nursing Office via phone - on the GWC nursing website - and leave a voicemail if you are unable to reach anyone. Vaccines are usually submitted via independent 3rd party verifier - that will be explained via future emails - but sometimes you will need to bring hard copies (Ex: copies of your TB Test) to orientation. Transcripts should be before orientation, but keep your eye out for emails as every admission process is slightly different due to the semester and Clinical site policies.
Feel free to ask more questions (that includes everyone admitted or not).
Congrats to the those who were admitted!! Looking forward to meeting those of you who got admitted for Fall (my last semester).
Those who did not get in: Hang in there! I had to apply to 4 different cycles and to 7 schools (2 BSN and 5 ADN programs) before getting admitted to GWC (I got a C in Anatomy and had no prior experience until I got my EMT license). It is possible, you just have to have an honest conversation with yourself and see how to maximize your points based on the current Multi-criteria. Sometimes you need to gather yourself and try again, other times you need to get a cert and job to bump up your points when you don't so well in pre-reqs or the TEAS. Meeting with counselors helps. CNSA meetings are also a good idea if you are at GWC. Hope this info helps.
