Golden West College ADN Fall 2021

Hi all! I wanted to start a new thread for those of us who are planning to apply for GWC ADN Program for Fall 2021. I thought we could post any questions, help, or updates. 

I will be applying with either 82 or 87 points depending on my TEAS score. Right now I'm hovering in the mid 80s for practice exams, but hoping I can still land in the 90s. 

It looks like last semester was really competitive so it's making me nervous.

I just set up my GWC email and saw that I was #4 on the alternate list and got an acceptance last night, so don’t lose hope those of you on the list!

How did you find out what number you were on the alternate list?

I had actually received an email about 9 days ago stating that I was an alternate and was #4. I didn’t realize that they would be sending to my GWC email and not my personal email so I barely logged into it for the first time and saw the email!

Hi guys,

I just accepted my offer today. For some reason, I never received any letters confirming my alternate number and all the sudden they said I was offered a seat and need to respond before midnight ?so please check your email guys, I just hope no one misses it by any chance.

Congratulations!! And same with me, I was surprised because I didn’t even know I was on the alternate list. I guess they emailed some people their number on the alternate list and others weren’t emailed about it at all?

I was also accepted as an alternate! They did not tell me which number I was. I responded through my personal email and the school email, but I still have not received a response. Has anyone received a confirmation? They noted we have until 4pm today to respond. Congrats to all who were accepted!

Yes... but I had to email her 3 times before I got a confirmation. ?. Others here have gotten confirmation right away.

For those who were on the alternate list and were offered admission, what were you guys' overall criteria scores?

3 pts for English psych and comm

35 pts science GPA 

25 pts for TEAS 

4 pts AA degree

6 pts pharm critical thinking and stats

1 pt for G099

3 pts life experience 

5 pts patient care experience 

2 pts language 

= 84 pts total ?

I just got an email stating that I was accepted off of the alternate list. I was never notified that I was an alternate. I was accepted elsewhere so I will have to weigh my options about which school is best.

I also accepted a seat as an alternate yesterday. I was wondering if anyone has received information on the mandatory orientation date in August? I read that it can't be missed and I have a trip planned, so hoping to find out the date ASAP. 

Congrats to everyone who accepted and don't get discouraged for those who didn't get offers!! I legit applied probably 30 + times to various programs over the past couple years.

Congrats Britt - The orientation is on August 8th from 8am - 11:30am!
