Hi all! I wanted to start a new thread for those of us who are planning to apply for GWC ADN Program for Fall 2021. I thought we could post any questions, help, or updates.
I will be applying with either 82 or 87 points depending on my TEAS score. Right now I'm hovering in the mid 80s for practice exams, but hoping I can still land in the 90s.
It looks like last semester was really competitive so it's making me nervous.

Welp there goes my dreams, it’s my fourth time applying maybe it’s a sign to change majors? Haha
don't give up!
I seriously wish they could announce earlier, or at least mid-June. I was confident too with 87 points and thought, maybe I don’t need to take Critical Thinking after all, but now I might just have to. There goes my Summer break ?.
also, regretting not checking my email soon enough to get added into Intro to Nursing for that extra 1 point this semester. ?

That should at least get you on the top of the alternate list hopefully! But I understand how you feel, I was going to search to get a CNA job but got cold feet because of covid and figured “well last fall the cutoff was around 80 so I should be in the safe zone!” ? I’m so tired of waiting around only to get another rejection letter... especially since so many of my friends have graduated already, I feel behind ?
July feels sooooo far away! Mid June would be so much better.
@breaditarian let’s hope we both get in!! It’s not set in stone yet. I’m 34, so I know how you feel about being behind. Let’s try to think positive for the next 1.5-2 months even thought it’s easier said than done!

That should get you into alternate # list for sure!!
Hello everyone!
I will be applying for the first time to GWC next Spring for Fall 2022. I was wondering if anyone of you knew the cut-off points for admission? If all goes well, I will be taking 2 pre reqs over the Summer, pharm over fall, and have enough hours with EMT which will put me at about 87 points!
Thank you and good luck to everyone~

I’ve been lurking these forums for a few years now and from what I’ve seen the cut off is usually around 78-82 points depending on the semester. I think the cut off for points for Spring 2021 was 78 but it looks like Fall 2021 is 88 points which is the highest I’ve ever seen it. With 87 points you will most definitely be able to get in, and if anything you’ll get on the alternate list. I know people who got accepted off the bottom of the alternate list with 72 points. It really just depends on how competitive each semester is, but I don’t think you have to worry with 87 points! ?

Thank you so much for the info! I appreciate it!
Hi everyone,
I'm applying this cycle Fall 2021. When I filled in my applications, my work experience as a medical secretary was about 2 weeks 3 months, so roughly 500 hours. Do I need to send in additional documents that now I have 6 months experience? I'm scared that it will cost me my 5pts and get rejected :((((. Thanks everyone.

Hi there! You get the points if the hours are direct patient care. Most schools want a letter from the office stating how many hours of patient care you have completed. A signed document on their letter head and contact info. You’ll also want to confirm with the nursing department! Good luck!

I believe a unit secretary was listed as qualifying job experience but you would need to submit proof of the hours you worked with a company letter head, typically a supervisor or HR would do that for you. Just as @Greta Heath mentioned above. Good luck! ☺️
