Golden West ADN Spring 2021

Published

Hi everyone, I didn't see a thread started for this application period at GWC so I figured I'd make one. I'm applying with 73 points. What about you? Anyone know if applicant numbers have increased or decreased with the pandemic?

I think it varies each semester depending on pt total. If u get 70+ pts your good for sure!

You're right. It varies each semester tho. There's no guarantee actually

Yeah, 80+ most likely accepted, 70+ will put you in alternate #, and if you get placed in the alternate pool then forget about it.

Hi guys! I just got the email confirming that Golden West got my application. Now time to wait until late October/early November. I am so anxious!!

Has anyone else not received a confirmation email yet? I am still waiting to hear back from the school

I actually just contacted the nursing office and they said they sent it to the wrong email address. Thank you!

Hello everyone!

This is my fourth time applying to this program. Rumor has it, after your third application it's an automatic entry. I have met all of the criteria and have been improving my point count the last three application periods. I have 55 points and I'm sure they won't accept my job for experience (I work in a Tox Lab). Best of luck to all of you!

Hi, when I applied on my 4th application, it was automatic entry. At the time, GWC was a lottery based system, no points that I can recall. This was back in January 2007. I had a classmate and we applied at the same time for the Spring 2005 entry, he got in on the first application and I didn't. He graduated 2 years ahead of me.

For anyone that gets into the program, I have my nursing books that I want to unload. They are all still relevant as nursing fundamentals hasn't changed. I have all the ATI study guides as well.

Hi guys,

I'm applying with 78 points. 3 more weeks and we will know how it ends. Nervous and also exciting ?

Hi! I applied with 80-85 points depending how much they give me for my work experience. I’m not sure.. but I hope they still accept the usual number of applicants!

What is your work experience?

Does anyone know what the cut off is for Fall 2020? If there’s a tie, do you think they will take the TEAS into consideration or science GPA?

Fall 2020, the cutoff was 77 points. Some people with 77 points were accepted and some were declined, but I am unsure how they determined who was accepted.   I don't know for certain, but it seems that they drew names.  Do not let 77 points discourage you. The "pandemic" started when Sring 2020 began and many of those individuals withdrew from their first semester and enrolled for Fall 2020. What I'm alluding to is that Spring 2021 will have more available spots, so 77 is not a hard fast number and the acceptance cut-off is likely to be lower than 77.
