This is my first post, but I am so excited because I went to Stanbridge College today in Irvine and absolutely loved everything about it (other than tuition of course! lol) I got all the financial aid stuff taken care of and just need to take the entrance exam on Monday. I will start with the next LVN class Nov. 10th. It is a one year program and they have a lot of great stuff built into the program. I have been going to a CC doing prereqs and was planning to take Micro this fall semester. That would mean I could apply to an RN program in the spring, but wouldn't be able to start anywhere until AT LEAST fall 2009 (highly unlikely to get accepted that soon!), so I am going to do the LVN to Rn route instead. I can't wait to get started!! All the students I saw there seemed to be enjoying themselves and the lab we peeked in on was very nicely set up. :wink2:
Hi, I have only been in Stanbridge for 2 days of orientation and so far so good. A little early to tell you how the program is... I did do some research before starting and spoke to students who are completing the program soon and they said that they do like being in the program. As long as you do all the work it will be fine.
I started the FT program today. They didnt push it back at all. Why did they push yours back?
They did push mine back, which I thought was strange. They called the friday before and said they are pushing it to June 2, when we were supposed to start May 17. They said it was due to students not getting their financial aid in on time and the fact that we are supposed to have memorial weekend off. I don't know, it was weird but whatever. When you paid the $400 did they give you a receipt? And how did you pay; cash, check? Thanks :)
Hi! I paid $400 in cash for it and I did get a receipt that I paid that amount. Today we did get our books and they said if we opened the seal then we would not get the $400 back if we changed our mind about going to the school. Also, the labtop and IPOD is not free. It's about $680 together. But they said if you dont want them you dont have to pay. So basically the $31,995 which includes the cost of the labtop and ipod will be subtracted off the amount. So, it would be around $31200 for the total cost of the tution. I already have a labtop and IPod... So, that' s why I am not taking them. Also, we have till next wed. to withdraw and not owe anything if you want out of the program. I plan on staying and completing it. Let me know if you have any other questions. Good Luck next week!

Thank you! I start tomorrow, I'm excited. I never heard about the ipod though so that's interesting. How is the program going for you so far? I'm guessing today was your first day out of orientation? Did you guys get your scrubs yet? I hope it goes well for you! Thank you for your input!
I'd have to disagree strongly with sunedays because I was a student at Pacific for 5 months and dropped for "many" reasons. There basically isn't a lab for starters, and I found that the material given to us wasn't enough for what I've seen Stanbridge offers.
I could tell you more but I'm going to pass I do not recommend Pacific College at all, again for "many" reasons.

That's weird. I just spoke with the financial aid advisor yesterday and she reassured me that my $400 will be returned once she receives my Sallie Mae loan (around june).
She said that because my entire tuition is covered by loans and grants , and I don't have an outstanding balance that I have to pay, the $400 will be returned in a check once they receive my fin. aid.
I was weary about it so I asked her to please put it in writing, and yesterday she did put it in writing that I will receive the reimbursement around June, as soon as they receive my Sallie Mae.
Prtygryl- Did you have an unpaid balance that you owed or did the fin. aid cover everything?
Gudy8- you might want to double check, if your ENTIRE tuition is covered by loans and grants, then they should be able to reimburse you like they are me. Because it doesn't make sense to not refund it if you think about it. But that's only IF everything is covered.
I start the part time program may 17! Good luck to you too :)
