Going to Stanbridge College for LVN

Published

This is my first post, but I am so excited because I went to Stanbridge College today in Irvine and absolutely loved everything about it (other than tuition of course! lol) I got all the financial aid stuff taken care of and just need to take the entrance exam on Monday. I will start with the next LVN class Nov. 10th. It is a one year program and they have a lot of great stuff built into the program. I have been going to a CC doing prereqs and was planning to take Micro this fall semester. That would mean I could apply to an RN program in the spring, but wouldn't be able to start anywhere until AT LEAST fall 2009 (highly unlikely to get accepted that soon!), so I am going to do the LVN to Rn route instead. I can't wait to get started!! All the students I saw there seemed to be enjoying themselves and the lab we peeked in on was very nicely set up. :wink2:

No I dont work for the School.. I just started there PM class on the 25th of August. Grow up.. I wouldn't do something stupid like that.

Hi,

I am thinking of attending stanbridge soon and was wondering if there are anyone that is attending or has recently graduated that could give some insight to the school. How many of your cassmates dropped?

How many went on to take the NCLEX? Do you feel you got your moneys worth ect. Also does anyone know if you can use your credits toward an RN program?

hi i'm in term 1 and its very stressful studying, learning and understanding everything from the lectures to the clinical skills lab! its very intense work but it what i like and want to be a nurse. term 1 instructor full time is great. she's an awesome strict instructor but i've learned so much in her class then all my other science classes instructors in my college. she's very much detailed and answers all our questions. she stays after class if i have questions. she's fast repsonse with her emails questions. i think she's doing an amazing job as our instructor. i'll miss her as my term 1 instructor. its freezing in the room the temp is always either too cold or hot, bring your lab jacket at all time and do not wear any other jacket because i was told to remove my jacket, just wear their required uniform. i like stanbridge :nmbrn::[anb]:, yes its costly however the nclex is very high a 97%. i've looked at other oc lvn schools and i knew that stanbridge was a good choice for me.

black leather recliner chairs w laptops in front of you. cozy desk where you can sleep (during breaks or lunchtime). admin office ppl suck but oh well they dont have anything to do with me....i like the cool stuff stanbridge gives us such as the laptop and itouch with meds.

i have not recieved it yet but waiting..... thanks!:lol2: i would recommand this lvn program to other such as friends and family.

Hello, I am starting Stanbridge on May 24th and want to get a head start on studying. What do you recommend that I study for before I start? I have a month to study materials. Thank you so much. It would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Hi, hopefully someone can answer this for me soon...

I just enrolled in Stanbridge and start May 17, but over the phone after my financial aid was figured out they told me "Remember to bring the $400 the first week"

Ummm no one told me about this....I then talked to a financial aid rep and she swore she mentioned this in our meeting, which maybe she did, maybe she didn't.

Supposedly the $400 covers the initial cost of the books and materials given to us during the intro week, since they don't receive the funds from our grants and loans for approx. 30 days (so they say).

To me this sounds super fishy.....so I asked if it will be returned to us after they receive our financial aid and she said the $400 IS returned to us in a check when they receive financial aid.

Can someone tell me is this true? Did they charge this to you and then return it like promised?

Thank you!

hello- i am currently attending part time...i suggest just reviewing medical terminology from your book. maybe even watching some ati videos on nursing fundamentals (they should be in the ati video box, but maybe you guys havent gotten it yet?)

honeestly , without the books they provide its hard to start anything really.. you're in for some hard work so maybe you should just relax this next month until may 24th- you'll miss it when you dont have it! :)

but if you can review basic nursing terminology and abbreviations i guess its better than nothing... GOOD LUCK! :)

and WELCOME! :yeah:

No they do not return the $400.00 everyone pays that and they do not return it..

I agree you may want to relax for right now.. there is not much you can study.. there lectures are off there powerpoints. As previously stated by another member, please use the time you have off to be relaxed, watch movies etc.. Term 1 was a breeze but Term 2 take a lot more studying.

Hi, I was at Stanbridge yesterday and I asked about the $400. They told me its for the books and uniforms and that it is not refundable. Hope this helps. Good luck! I start the FT program on May 24th. :)
