H i, i'm going to be a travelling nurse and I've chosen Santa Barbara due to it's gorgeous location and proximity to all of the things I need to be happy. I was wondering, can anyone reccommend a good hospital there to work at? I plan on staying for the entire winter. I've also chosen RNnetwork since I've heard so many good things about them, if anyone knows the area and can give me a few tips I'd sure appreciate it. It sounds like Cottage Hospital is very good but i'd like to pick the hospital if it's possible, they said jobs for October don't post until August. Thanks for your help--

hey, just finnished up a contract there. gorgeous place! a little pricey but well worth the 3 months i was there. i worked at cottage, staff were all very nice; plenty of travellers too. i think CC and AMN have the contracts there, dont quote me on that. good luck.

hey Beausud, thanks for the info, I think it's going to be very good for me there. I plan on renewing my contract and staying for the whole winter, one more ques. any good hospitals near the Santa ynez (not spelled right I know)mountains/ i'm craving nature and a more inland location--cheers, happy travels to you (in future) :p

I never replied before...hope this is correct... I am in the process of looking for a travel job...Have been offered one at Orange children's in CA but I have been reading and hearing a lot of things and hope It is not a nightmare...even the recruiter has filled me in on what to expect as far as attitude and housing and more.I am just going to take the leap

Keep in mind, the reason many places need Agency Nurses, is there is something amiss. Sometimes the facility is reasonable and sometimes not. YOU must be prepared for the good and the tough (that is why you need to have a SOLID Nursing backround).

Good luck and let us know how you are doing.

im sorry i am not framilliar w/ that area.. i do know that santa ynez has very nice wineries, plenty of affordable wine tasting places to try out (if you like that stuff). :)

I am in a position to do some travel nursing myself...as an agency nurse, summer is the slow time and I bet a travel assignment would work well then. Anyone else do that?

I got canceled every night but tonite this week...then tonite I actually got a shift, went outside and my @@XX% CAR wouldn't start....go figure. :(

Thanks for the link to Delphi Forums...been hanging out there and getting lots of good info. :)

I too would like to travel to California. Any more input from anyone out there? The information so far has been an excellent start, but I would like to know if anyone else has had a good CA experience.

Thanks,
