Going for it July 16th!!!

Published

Hello!

I read a lot of posts on here and enjoy seeing everyone supporting each other! I am taking NCLEX on July 16th. I graduated on June 16th and interviewed for a RN residency position two days after, and then I was offered the position a couple of days later!!! So excited....but here is where I FREAK out! I have to pass the NCLEX in order to keep position....eeeKKKK!

I have been using Kaplan since we had it through school. I am doing okay on the QTs.

QT1 61.3

QT2 46.7- this pretty bad...Don't think I was focused

QT3 47- Not focused :(

QT4 52.7

QT5 52

QT6 58.5

QT7 55.8

Diagnostic 63.9

Readiness 64.4

So what I am wondering is how many of you scored similar scores and felt ready enough to test and passed? I know they say to try and get in the 60s on the QTs, but for some reason I am not getting there. I did much better on diagnostic and readiness and Kaplan instructor said with that readiness score I have a 95.9% chance of passing. That's a high #, but still I am freaked out just like everyone else. I have three weeks, but then another issue I have is that I work NOC shifts as a PCA, two nights a week....I guess I just needed to vent...and looking for reassurance and support from others in the same boat.

Good luck to everyone testing soon and CONGRATULATIONS to those that passed!!

I think you are doing pretty well. Do you have access to the qbank or other questions on Kaplan? You still have a good 3 weeks to study and do questions. Keep your head up and just keep doing questions! Good luck to you!

Thank you! Yes I have the Qbank as well, which I will be starting this week. Hopefully I will do better in that than the QTs. I also have the content review book, so I am hoping this will all help me. Just nervous I guess!

My scores are nearly identical this and I'm freaking out

I'm still waiting on final results, but the best advice I can give you is to review the rationales. Know why you missed something, maybe it was a word you missed or an important detail you didn't pay mind to. Most important, focus on your weaknesses and get some rest.

Thanks MexRntobe! I am reviewing all of the rationales for the ones I got wrong and right. I realized I am down to two answers and end up picking the wrong one. The SATA are really killing me though...holy moly! Those are tough!

AshleyMarie, when is your test scheduled for?

I just got my ATT yesterday, I think I am going to take it on the same day.

So far my scores are (just started QT yesterday)

Diagnostic- 58.3%

Readiness- 70.6%

QT1- 60%

QT2- 57.3%

QT3- 61.0%

My biggest concern is that it doesn't seem my scores are improving!

Currently I am doing 100+ questions daily with full review of them while taking notes.

Once I am 1/2 through the questions I will redo tests as well as the normal 100 questions.

I am making a little graph tracking my progress, on new tests my goal is to be scoring 68%+ by the time I am half way through the questions.

Once I start to redo the previous tests my goal is to score 80% or higher.

BizyRN as soon as I get my ATT ill schedule shooting for before August 1

Qester, your scores look good so far. Kaplan says above a 60% is best, but I did hear that mid to high 50s was okay too. Our school made up take the question trainers for a grade and it got really annoying because we had due dates, so that is wear I think I messed up. I didn't really care at the moment. I am doing 150-250 questions a day from Kaplan, Saunders, and PDA. I read all the rationales even on the ones I got right. A good trick might be to get all the QTs done now, and a few days before you test do them again. That is what I am thinking of doing. This is just all SOOOO stressful. I am already having issues with sleeping and I dont test until mid July....haha. Keep us updated on how you do!!!

AshleyMarie you keep us updated too!! Cant wait to hear how you all did!!!!

I am taking mine July 15th!!!! And my Kaplan scores are about the same as yours! I'm studying my ass off on a daily bases!!! We can do it!
