Go figure.......

Nursing Students General Students

Published

Out of 43 graduating students the results are coming back and it looks like all but 2 passed NCLEX in my class. The 2 that didn't pass, probably the 2 biggest know it all girls in class. The ones that would constantly roll their eyes about how stupid class was and a waste of their time. The 2 that were snotty to 98% of the class. They started off buddies and quickly by end of semester that ended. Sure it was because they were exactly alike. They acted high and mighty all the time, in clinicals they constantly would cut everyone off to talk about their patients and they were always the life saving students. Had stupid nurses and docs and thank god they were there to save the day. No one else bothered talking about there shifts after the first few clinicals because they knew these 2 would take over. Also no this isn't simply my perception; by graduation most of the class was ready to not let them come because of how ugly and nasty they were being about our pinning ceremony and had only negative things to say about what was being planned. Even the teachers complimented the graduation committee for trying to handle it gracefully with them.

Needless to say, I was pretty surprised of all the students, these are the 2 that didn't pass NCLEX. At the same time I can't think of 2 better students that needed a humbling experience.

Anyway, just was told and had to share. Future students; be watchful of your attitudes and cockiness and how much of a waste of your time stuff might be. It might come back to bite you in the rear.

Thankfully majority of the students were not like this and I am happy they all passed. Especially the ones that had a really rough time in school. I always felt like we had a good program, tough but good and felt like they prepared us well.

or the bad apple can find itself not getting picked or roasted in an oven. lol

or not passing the NCLEX...LOL

Specializes in PICU, ICU, Hospice, Mgmt, DON.
...and these two right now are saying to anyone who will listen, 'it's not our fault it was the Nclex exam that has the issue...the questions were not fair...Our instructors did not teach us correctly.....The other classmembers were friends of someone who had the answers...it wasn't our fault we are smarter than everyone else.....yada yada yada......"

I am going to go out on an unpopular limb right now and suggest that when these two actually do pass the NCLEX and actually start working, that they are "lucky" enough to get precepted by two of those... ah hem... "dried out" old nurses that should retire.......

Let us see the excuses fly then:)

Also in the same vein...how about about being precepted by we who "eat our young"...these are two prime examples of why we get that reputation.

just sayin:p

Yea pretty much you find these types everywhere. We had one other girl that was like this, she was best buddies with on of these other girls. She passed though.

This is how this girl was; Apparently there was a typo on our pinning ceremony invitation. Instead of like May 14th, 2011 it was May 14th 2011. So this girl puts a status on FB telling her family that she will not be sending out invitations because they are filled with errors. (she never even mentioned the error to anyone, no one noticed and we found out via FB) So we ask her what the error was and she said it's missing a comma. All of us are like SERIOUSLY??? She said it was to tacky to send things with errors because she comes from a family of English majors blah blah blah.

So Ms. don't want to be tacky then proceeds to send out a group invite to pinning on her facebook inviting anyone of her 300+ friends that want to come. Granted we already got estimated numbers and based the venue on that. Besides a FB event invite isn't tacky at all. But that comma in the date missing was.

Anyway, that's just a small thing of what we had to deal with.

Jeez, what a pain in the neck! I had to pause and really look to figure out what the error was. These kinds of situations and people are tricky because they can make you feel vindictive. My initial thought is: Ha! They got what was coming! But I also feel a pang of guilt for feeling good about another persons failure. I bet though if I had to put up with them for two years all feelings of compassion would be washed away!

I feel so bad for the guys in my class. We have a few girls that take advantage of them by getting test answers the night before, or by studying with them and copying their notes. The guys in my class are so smart and they study hard. I just hate the fact that they don't know that these Paris Hilton fans are using them and they talk smack behind their back.
