Hello, everyone!
I am a prospective student for the GMU ABSN program for 2017. I am working on completing my A&P I and II before applying in January. I have already have a BA in Psychology from GMU. My overall GPA was not great due to an undiagnosed chronic illness that left me with many incompletes that I couldn't get done. But my last 50 or so credits were all As and I was on the Dean's List every semester. I don't know if it will help me at all to be an alumna or not. I am an older student (35 yrs old) and I have three little girls. My older two are already in elementary school and my youngest will eligible for Pre-K by the time the program starts if I'm accepted. I'm a little intimidated by the 1 year, intensive program. Anyone else thinking about applying for the same program? Any advice from those who have already started or completed it? Thanks!
I did the campus tour on Tuesday but there wasn't a tour of the nursing facility, just a chance to meet with advisers. Based on what my general transfer student tout guide said the building is supposed to be up and in use for the Fall but I wouldn't take her word as an absolute truth. It does appear to be the plan though.
I was accepted too. I am really sorry that anyone I have "met" here might not have been accepted and I hope you will get your degree and fulfill your goal in another program! Many paths to nursing.
I made my deposit and got as far as logging into one the Mason web, whatever it's called, but couldn't work out getting an email address. If anyone figures it out, I would love to hear.
I'm pretty close to the Fairfax campus and we have lots of room. If anyone is coming from out of town for anything and needs a place to stay for a few days, please let me know.
I was accepted as well, although similar to LawyerRN2b chances are I will be giving up my spot to attend another program. I'll take a few days to weigh my options but wanted to extend congratulations to everyone that got in and to say good luck in the program/ beyond in your nursing careers!

I'm in too!! But I am pretty sure I am giving up my spot. I had minor surgery and couldn't make it to the transfer day to tour the facilities. I already made my deposit at Georgetown but may think again if we get to be the first class using the new building (Peterson). Does anyone know any details about that? Did anyone go on the tour? Thoughts?
