Hi folks!

I'm about to enter Nursing 1 at GCC and I thought this would be a pretty opportunity to set up a place to vent and get advise. I'm both excited and nervous about this fall. Maybe it's because every chance the faculty speaks to us, they make it seem we should consider forgetting everything in our lives and just prepare for the most difficult task ever undertaken by man. Not that I think it's not going to be difficult, but common! Anybody else have any thoughts?

Ohh.. and bye the way, Congrats on getting in and God help us!

I'm really glad this semester has finally ended. It was stressful... but I'm looking forward to the Fall, when I get to start the nursing program at GCC! :nurse:

Hello All,

Long time no talk. I feel like a bear who just woke up from a long winters nap. THANK GOD IT'S OVER!!!! For about a week and then I have to take that damn Issues and trends class...:banghead:. Are we all safe? I never thought I'd be so happy to get a C in my entire life. But Wahoo! I'm going to party like it's 1999.

lol!! congrats on moving forward. i feel the same way... i'm not sure what to do with my new found freedom! two weeks off for me, and then micro :stone

Well, in the middle of semester 3. Just finished test 1 of 2:lghmky:Still surviving. Man that Mental health was a bear.

I just took mine today, it was a beast, I agree.:zzzzz

Hey Grind! Glad to see you're still on the island!

Any first semester students out there? If so, how are you finding this semster to be? Feel free to vent. We're here to listen.:smokin:

I'm a first semester nursing student. So far the material doesn't seem too hard, but I'm having trouble figuring out exactly what they want as far as assessments on the care plans goes. I think I'm doing better now, at the beginning of the semester before they covered the subjects it was tough!

Hey Grind! Glad to see you're still on the island!

Yeh man I'm hangin in there, same to you. This semester is flyin by for me, what about for you. 12 clinicals down already

Are the instructors helpful there? Do you have to take the HESI as an exit? If so, do they prepare you for it. Any info would be great.

Yes they are helpful. The HESI is an exit test as well, given in the 4th semester.

Do you happen to know why they lost their lpn to rn accreditation?

Hey Grind! Glad to see you're still on the island!

Were you the one makin all that "noise" on the discussion board last night? :lol2:
