Hi folks!
I'm about to enter Nursing 1 at GCC and I thought this would be a pretty opportunity to set up a place to vent and get advise. I'm both excited and nervous about this fall. Maybe it's because every chance the faculty speaks to us, they make it seem we should consider forgetting everything in our lives and just prepare for the most difficult task ever undertaken by man. Not that I think it's not going to be difficult, but common! Anybody else have any thoughts?
Ohh.. and bye the way, Congrats on getting in and God help us!
I'm nervous! But ready. I was just wondering what kind of school supplies to get like binders, notebooks, etc. They touched briefly on this at the orientation but I'm not really sure. I remember hearing something about get two binders but nothing else really. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks
I went with the two binders. I just did one for lecture and one for lab. Then I printed everything out from the CD, 3 hole punched it and put it in the right binder. In the lecture binder I used a ton of tab dividers and printed the outline for each class, the assignments for the classes that we know and then a few extra sheet for notes after each outline.

I know they mentioned the three ring binder, and a folder to keep papers in. So, I'm going just going to get that and a notebook. I figure that they'll go over everything again the first day of classes, so I'll get anything else I need then.
I'm starting to get a little nervous too but probably more excited than anything. I finished the reading and have been working on dosage calc but still have to complete the lab assignment. I figure I have time since I won't actually have lab for two more weeks but I'll get it done before school starts. Did you finish everything?I wound up getting a blue stethoscope. It's pretty basic but cute:-) Oh, this may be a stupid question but how do you put your name on them? Everyone keeps saying to make sure our names are on them but how and where?
I'm definitely nervous, but more excited. I think I'll be more nervous the night before our first clinical though. And, no I didn't quite finish everything. I finished the reading, and havealso been working on the dosage calc. And yes, I didn't finish the lab work for the same reason, I don't have lab for anything two weeks.
I think for the stethoscope I'm just going to end up getting a pinkish one. They have a raspberry one that's really pretty, so I might go with that - I know, I'm a dork . Oh, and for the name I actually found that Littmann makes an ID ta (here http://www.allheart.com/littmannidtags.html) that's cheap and looks easy to put on so I think I'll go with that.

You're not a dork. It took me forever to pick a color. I made the poor woman at Best Uniform stand there for ten minutes trying to ring me up while I kept changing my mind. It was pathetic:-)
Thanks for the link. Those look great.
I took the Hesi today. Man, I did bad! Reading comprehension 87% Grammar 67% Vocabulary 50% Bio 66% Chem 64% Math 98% Critical Thinking 790. This is my first time taking it and I'm very disappointed and sad. I took Chem 111 and Ace it and human bio and ace it but fail on the test. Today is the deadline to apply into the program but I fail so I have to wait for next year. Any suggestion to improve the score. I been studying the Hesi A2adm ass. for a week now but it contain lack of information to master the subject.
Thank
