Hi everyone, I just turned in my application yesterday. Does anyone here apply to Glendale also? Let's keep in touch and get knowing each other. Good luck to all of you
Hi everyone, I also applied to GCC's nursing program for Fall 2019. If any of you want to calculate your Chancellor's Cut score, I found this excel from Denza College and I believe it is 100% accurate. I used the excel to calculate my cut score which ended up being an 87% and LACC recently called me to tell me that I qualify for their program with an 87% so I'm sure the excel is accurate. This is the link: https://www.deanza.edu/nursing/programs.html . You have to scroll all the way down, click this "Chancellor's Formula Worksheet," and the excel will be downloaded.

We should hear back from them on or before April 15 if our prerequisite courses are equivalent to their courses unless you've already met with their counselors to evaluate your transcripts. Then they'll let us know if we made the Chancellor's Cut score by April 30. Your GPA is very good and your TEAS is pretty good too. I wouldn't worry so much about your GPA and TEAS for GCC's nursing program because they do the lottery. As long as you make the Cut score and TEAS score, then you'll have a chance at getting in.
Is anyone here planning on getting any certifications before nursing school? I’m a phlebotomist, but was also thinking I’d certify for ecg/ekg or pharmacy tech to familiarize with other parts of the field that are relevant. Maybe an ACLS cert as well.
Does anyone know if nurses (bsn/msn) should know billing codes? I know nurses/drs can bill for diff things and before/after makes a diff depending on insurance plans.
I just want to be as well rounded as possible to hopefully score a student nursing gig. I’d like to specialize and earn an MSN as well. Maybe a dr in nursing to become a nurse anesthetist. I’m in my mid 30s so I suppose I don’t have much time to acrue and pay off debt so we’ll see.
This wait is killing me. I applied to several schools.
